I heard about Goa Taco when my friend and Yelp Elite Win C. reviewed this place. It's definitely a hole in wall spot and there aren't that many seats here. It's probably 6-7 stools and 2 benches near the window where you can people watch.
I tried the Pork Belly taco since they said it's the most popular. The taco was made to order and it's very tasty and filling. This place is good for a quick lunch and I'll come back again if I'm around the area.
I think I am in love with this place. It has good food options for both vegetarian as well as non-vegetarians.
A hole in the wall but I am so glad I found it. The outside says Paratha Taco but the place is named Goa taco.
The taco shell is unlike regular tortilla shell instead they make fresh paratha (Indian bread) and use it as the taco. Pure deliciousness.
If you love paneer(Indian cottage cheese), get the panner cheese taco without giving it a second thought. In my opinion, it was better than the chicken chorizo taco that my friend ordered. But the chicken one is worth a try too.
The place has limited seating, it has bar like seating and can fit maybe 7-8 people. There is a bench right outside for two people as well. Since it's a tiny place, it can get hot pretty quick and they make the food right there so it can get worse if there are a lot of people.
Definitely going back when I am in the area.
I want to say goa taco has the best tacos I ever had but it's unfair when you use delicious flaky paratha as the taco shell. I can eat just the bread alone but when it's combined with mouth-watering fillings like slow-roasted pork belly or recado rojo lamb shoulder, you can't go back to plain tacos. They cook their meats right as each time I ate here, I never had dry meat.
It's a bit pricey since each taco will set you back almost $8 but it could fill 2 stomachs.
Hello best late night drunk eatery! Actually that doesn't do justice. It's good at any point in the day. Go here. Eat anything. And be merry.
I've wanted to try this place for for a while because I love paratha, and unfortunately I was a bit underwhelmed. It's definitely good food here, but it's not as flavorful as you would think considering the fusions of cuisines you have here. The paratha could be more flavorful and the fillings are good, but nothing blows my mind.
It's a not a bad place if you're in the neighborhood, but I wouldn't specifically recommend seeking it out.
Small place so it's better as a to-go spot. I really enjoyed the paratha as a taco shell. They have several types to choose from. I got the Mojo Beef which I recommend. It's definitely bigger and more filling than a regular taco. They have a nifty sleeve to hold the taco so it doesn't get all over your hands.
I finally get to try this spot! Bought everything to go. So we ordered the 4 popular choices of pork belly, lamb shoulder, chicken chorizo, and beef and a chocolate churro between 2 people. Good thing we had 2 people so I can try them all! So first off, let's start with the taco wrap. The best way I can kind of describe the wrap is that it was like roti canai (Malaysian cuisine) plus scallion pancake (Chinese cuisine) in terms of texture. It was crunchy, buttery and flaky, soooo good! I really enjoyed the outside. The pork belly was good, I really enjoyed chewing through the crunchy skin and it went well with the toppings included. The lamb shoulder was probably the tastiest and most flavorful of the 4 we bought and it might have been my favorite. The lamb was tender and juicy and the flavors were on point! The chicken was a bit disappointing because there wasn't much flavor, kind of bland. Beef was good, it was more like stewed beef. The churro is a must buy! It was crunchy on the outside, soft and chewy on the inside filled with chocolate hazelnut. It was small, but so worth it. It was amazing, probably one of the best churros I've ever had. Next time, I will buy a couple of those. There's also a house hot sauce they have which I thought was VERY spicy. Don't forget to pack that to go if you do take out 🙂

~ Best tacos in new York
~ Pork belly or Lamb is the taco to get
While visiting the west coast last summer, I made it a thing to try as many taco places as I can, and Mexican food in general because New York is not known for really great taco places… So when I came across goa taco on Yelp after a search for food past midnight, I didn't know what to make of it. I mean it has great reviews, but how many of them have been to Mexico, or the west coast?
But because I'm a sucker for tacos, I decided to check this place out, obviously I had very low expectations, and just hoped that it will be decent enough to pass for a late night joint… But one bite in my lamb taco was all I needed! My tummy started dancing from happiness, I couldn't believe it, for real?? I've asked so many people for recommendations and here I am in this quaint little restaurant eating a taco that acceded my wildest dreams … I guess dreams do come true!
To be honest, I must admit, the tacos here are far from authentic! Instead of the traditional tortilla, they serve the tacos in a paratha, a layered Indian Flatbread, and instead of traditional ingredients, you will find tzatziki, and eggplant salsa… But that doesn't take away from the excitement, or change my opinion about this place.
"Goa taco" for some reason, reminds me a lot of "komodo" in LA.
So in short, these are, In my opinion, the best tacos in new York, if not the best in the east coast…
