Boy going to this place in the morning was like the Hasbrouck Heights hangover convention. Obviously a lot of people needed that breakfast sandwich and a coffee to get them going after a long night of partying. And doesn't a nice bacon egg and cheese hit the spot after a long night? Hell yea it does!
Goldberg's always hits the spot. Their bagels are nice and fluffy not hard and chewy. Their meats seem to be a good quality as well. Needless to say Goldberg's is never a bad choice.
Bagel store in a mini mall with tons of parking. There's a seating area with a few tables, where you can eat your food.
I've tried a few things from here in the past, which included an omelette and numerous bagels. The service here is pretty fast. The omelettes are pretty good and the bagels are very fresh.
The bagels here are weirdly priced though. I think its 95¢ for the bagel and its $2.25 for the bagel, toasted with cream cheese. So either, its the toasting or the cream cheese, maybe both, that makes the bagel go from 95¢ to $2.25 (a difference of $1.30), quite a big jump in price. I'd guess its the cream cheese that causes the price increase, but I'm not sure. Quite expensive cream cheese, if it is.
2.5 stars, rounded up to 3 stars.
I just picked up lunch here while waiting for my windshield to be replaced at the Safelite across the street. Unfortunately, I was a bit disappointed.
The "Grilled lemon chicken wrap" I ordered had no hint of lemon in it at all. The chicken was dry as expected, being white meat, but I did encounter bones in the chicken. For $6, you can definitely do better elsewhere; the wrap wasn't the largest of portions and should have been priced at $5 or less.
I don't think I would travel out of my way to eat here. This review probably would be a two-star review, but I decided to give it an additional half star as I imagine there aren't too many other offerings like this one in the immediate area for fresh bagels and general deli offerings. Coming from Route 120, you will see mostly gas stations and chain fast-food and fast casual establishments.
Excellent spot for traditional NYC deli fare. I love a good bagel and this place is one of the best ive had. Old school bolied then baked but very light and easy to eat not leaving your jaw hurting from chewing. Ive also had a pastrami/corned beef on rye here that was very tasty and didnt break the bank (under $10) I highly recommend this joint!
I wish I could take their lox to my favorite bagel spot and that would be the best combo. Maybe it was just the day I went but the bagel was a bit hard from the outside. I like them a bit firm and chewy on the inside and I didn't taste any of that.
Service is okay. Nothing terrible in my experience but nothing spectacular. The coffee was the bomb though!!!! They had graham cracker flavor which is what I ended up getting
IN LOVE with this place!!! If you are looking for authentic and tasty NJ NY bagels, this is the place to come. I HIGHLY recommend, and when I say HIGHLY it's a nice way of saying you MUST, order a taylor ham egg and cheese with ketchup, salt and pepper on whatever bagel you would like ( I prefer onion or garlic). Just thinking about this sandwich is making my mouth drool right now! Their regular bagels with cream cheese are also super delectable. These are good bagels for buying and freezing also. Since I now live in FL, whenever I'm in NJ we come and byu dozens of bagels to bring back home, because no one does it like Goldberg! The place is quite big inside too for a bagel shop, and the staff is super friendly, they have been there for years so it's nice to always see a familiar face. I HIGHLY recommend this place!!!
We stopped by here twice for breakfast, got two humungous sized bagels with lox for under $6, three of us ate from it and we still had leftover, that's how big the bagels here are. The lox within the bagel was excellent, nice smokey salmon and generously filled.
I read the other reviews about the service but I guess I was lucky both times and got excellent service.
They take credit/debit cards BUT, your total has to be more than $10.
Wow where do I begin! 4 stars for a quality breakfast and fresh bagels made daily. I grew up in the area and just took a trip back home and made sure this was a stop.
It's extremely chaotic in the morning, but that's jersey for ya. They have plenty of options to choose from when it comes to bagel and spread flavors. Taylor ham is always on point (it's a jersey thing). They are a little on the pricey side, but in my opinion it's worth it.
The only downfalls with this place is that there's a bit of a language barrier, and they just recently started accepting debit cards. They require a $10 minimum. Come on guys it's 2016! Aside from that I thoroughly enjoy coming here whenever I take a trip up to NJ. I usually buy a dozen, freeze them in zip lock bags, and bring them back to Florida. Can't get enough!
