This place needs to fix their overhead range. IIf you enter this place during their peak hours you'd swear there was a cloud inside the restaurant.
No no…that's just the greasy smoke & steam stuck in their kitchen. As a result regardless of how quickly you enter, order and leave this place you are bound to smell like smokey nasty greasy Chinese food.
Their hot & sour soup isn't very hot or sour and the rest of the food isn't all that great. They seem to certainly cater to a non-asian crowd with the flavoring.
Why do I torment myself with coming back to this place repeatedly? Well you see, amongst all the neighborhood Chinese restaurants within a quick 5 minute walking distance of the Astoria Blvd subway station, they're open the latest. Sometimes you just crave some greasy Chinese food…usually after some heavy drinking.
Yes I'm fully aware that the place is not all that attractive, however, they have never messed up my order and the food always tastes good… Sweet and sour chicken, chicken wings, fried rice, egg rolls, cheese wontons, and egg drop soup is about as far as I go (but this is just my preference). Friendly staff that always greets with smiles… Will order from here again
