I am no way, shape or form a fan of Golden Krust, but in the Far Rockaway area, where good food is hard to come by, this is a solid choice.
The staff has manners and provide exceptional service. Smiling faces and good food is all I ask for. The roti choices are curry goat, stew chicken and jerk I believe. The stew is tasty but beware of all di bones nah. The cornmeal porridge is just like my grandma made. Cinnamon flavored, no lumps and delicious.
If you're in the hood, stop by for a great meal. Portions are large and service is good.
I can't say that Golden Krust is my favorite restaurant (it's your typical fast food chain, only it specializes in fried patties instead of french fries and burgers), but they are a reliable vegetarian option in pretty much any neighborhood. Got the same thing that I always get – a vegetarian patty to go.
