Quicktips: Delicious food at a great price We split dinner for 6 and it was only $10 each with beers. Best Paneer Tikka Masala I have had in the northeast. It is BYOB but, if you ask, the waiters are willing to grab beers for you from down the street. Very hole in the wall. You are here for great food but definitely not to impress. They play Bollywood songs on their two tvs. Remember cash only! Also, they are open late night. This food was so good sober, I can't imagine what it would taste like after a few drinks.
Food: Large portions. We ordered three entrees for six people and no one went hungry. Paneer Tikka Masala so good, it is worth the drive from Manhattan to Jackson Heights. The naan is light and buttery. The Butter Chicken and the Chili Chicken were also delicious! Absolutely no complaints on food.
Ambiance: VERY hole in the wall. Only a few tables, so at peak times you might have a problem getting a table.
Service: Basic, you order at the counter. Food was brought out fairly fast.
There are many no frills punjabi/Indian restaurants in my neighborhood, Right now this spot is the Gold standard. In Punjabi, we call this spot a "Dhaba" which basically means: no frills, just authentic indian food for cheap, open all day and night. Don't expect a great atmosphere or anything like that. What you will get is amazing, succulent, powerful, flavorful Punjabi indian food for cheap. It's rare to get this type of authentic taste in the city. Thinking about their Fish curry and Sag Paneer makes my mouth water, the Garlic naan is as good as it can ever get. I went to this spot at 4am recently and I was blown away by the food I got at that hour, I ended up going back to the tiny over filled kitchen to give compliments to the chef. They take their time with the food to make it right and the waiters are always nice and pleasant.
