  1. One of the best dimsum spots out of all 5 boroughs, hands down. I've never seen a dimsum place that displays their pastry chef making all the fresh puff pastries and buns. Dimsums are served via dimsum cart as well as walk-up tables, with food displayed in large pots.
Very spacious restaurant, great for large banquets and weddings. However, it fills up really fast. If you don't have the patience to wait a table, there is a take out area where they push fresh dimsum to.
Recommended dishes are egg tart, roast pork puff pastry, and shrimp rice roll.

  2. The Story: Clan reunion at this establishment aka. CNY dinner #9402840284.

Food: We ordered the banquet for about 12 people. Unfortunately, only a couple of dishes stood out to me. That is the seafood soup and the red bean soup.

Decor:  This place is HUGE. Great for a Chinese Wedding… sadly the food is kinda lacking.

Price: My dad paid… but the banquet meals usually run about $200-$300. ~$20-25 per person.

Service:  Service is…BAD. They didn't come clean the plates until we were done. They took forever to get us drinks. Just ignored. A party of 12 people..ignored.

Parking & Finding the Place: They do have valet parking in the back of the restaurant which is a plus in Flushing. Guess what earned it an extra star?

Additional Thoughts/Tips: I heard dim sum here is pretty lacking too.

  3. First off, I am of Cantonese origin. I grew up eating Dim sum. This place is pretty decent but it's not the best. It's a few minute drive from my house and the extra star is for the convenience of this place. Their quality of food has been declining. I always get the sew Mai, curry egg balls and chong fun. I noticed that the egg balls they use aren't even the same anymore, as well as the curry sauce. I'm not exactly sure what curry sauce they use but it just doesn't taste the same. It used to be my absolute favorite along with sew mai and chong fun. The only decent dish from these three are the chong fun. The sew mai still taste relatively the same. Their snails during dim sum hours isn't as great as the ones during dinners.
Now onto the dinner foods. Their seafood here is declining as well. But I'm always back here because of the convenience. Their seafood is either too bland or too salty sometimes. Their lobsters are decent though. As well as their snails, but everything else? Eh not so much.

  4. Came here for a big family gathering night dinner, and had previously been here a couple times for Dim Sum, which was pretty decent. A thing that I noticed during my last visit was how friendly the staff was! Very consistent was making sure you have a clean plate and always there to make sure you get what you need. The food was exceptional, with good portions. My favorite dish of the night would be the soup with the noodles and seafood. It has a amazing flavor and the shrimps were so fresh. Since I love seafood, my other favorite would be the fried crab, which was great because it wasn't too over fried and has a interesting flavor and crunch to it. My only complaint would be the noise level on the other side of where I was. There was a wedding going on, but nonetheless I feel that they should try to do something about the incredible noise! I would recommend this place for anyone looking to have a decent family or friend gathering dinner!

  5. Go to dim sum spot with family. Nothing spectacular. My family likes it because they have a lot large tables and wait is fairly reasonable. Oh and if you like valet parking then this is your go to spot. The food isn't bad. You can order a whole pot of congee for $10. That's one heck of a deal!

  6. Stopped by last weekend for a quick order of roast pork and soy chicken over rice and found 3 female staff standing there by the buffet chatting away and playing with their phones.  We stared at them awaiting for some professional assistance, then finally asked them if we can place an order.  While we told them what we wanted, the ladies basically started chatting amongst themselves again, this time over my voice.  How rude?!

The butcher finally came over and started butchering our pork and chicken.  He also picked up a bulk of wet cabbage and smacked it on top of our white rice.  When we got home hoping to indulge in some meaty goodness, we found ourselves with extremely fatty roast pork and cabbage that gave off a bad stench and lingered on the rice.  Never returning again.

  7. When this was East Manor, it was one of my family's go-to for dim sum. (mostly because it's away from the overcrowded Main St. area and there is plenty of street parking nearby.) I don't know when they changed names (and owners/management?) but it is not as good anymore.

We arrived just before 11am so were seated right away but all the way in the back where no one else was. A few carts were lazy and didn't come by us so my sister had to walk over and tell them that we were waiting for them.

The best dishes were the jian dui (sesame ball with bean paste) and custard-filled bun. Everything else was just so-so.
    Ha-gau: just OK
Siu-mai: the 4 pieces were surprisingly very big (yeah for big potions) but way too salty
Gnao cheong (beef in rice crepe): again, they were generous with the amount of beef but it was overcooked and a bit tough to chew
steamed cha siu bao: not bad but could have used more cha siu
Gnao yuk (meatballs): lacking in flavor
Cheon geen (spring rolls): WE FOUND A HAIR ON ONE OF THE PIECES! They apologized and deducted it from our bill.

I don't see us coming back again.

  8. The nature of Dim Sum is that it's a little more pricey than your average meal. If you come expecting to pay a little more, it'll be a much more enjoyable experience.

For those who've never yum cha-d before, It's best to come in a group, this way you can order more dishes. Don't be cheap. Order a little of everything, and taste a little bit of everything, it'll be magically delicious!
