My company placed a lunch order with Good Stock Soups via Cater2Me (better to order direct with GSS if you can), and we were all extremely impressed! Our order arrived accurately and on time. We received large trays of a Roasted Winter Vegetable and Farro Salad, which contained parsnips, sweet potatoes, and red onions, all tossed in a garlic vinaigrette. The farro was cooked perfectly, to almost an al dente texture – meaning it was firm, without being too hard nor too mushy. Each bite of cubed vegetable was like finding a sweet diamond in the sand. In terms of the soups, we ordered the Portuguese Kale, Spiced Parsnip, Roasted Tomato, and Turkey Chili varieties. The tomato and chili were the most familiar to the group and went almost immediately. However, the other 2 were the ones that I and the more adventurous eaters went for. The Kale Soup was thickened with the inclusion of potatoes and contained onions, garlic and a smoked paprika vinaigrette – delicious, but keep a mint handy for after! I could literally eat the Parsnip Soup for every meal, every day. The pureed vegetable broth was infused with curry, ginger, coconut milk and mild chilies. It packed an herbaceous kick that made it reminiscent of Thai flavors. The soups were served in large tubs with ladles, and we received a bunch of small cups to help ourselves. There were raves from all of the diners and many tried multiple varieties of soup. We also received two large loafs of sliced sourdough and a French baguette that were all freshly sourced from the Tomcat Bakery. What a great bonus!
I highly recommend Good Stock Soups, and, in fact, our office manager has already decided to order from them again in the next two months!
