I've eaten here a couple of times and both times the food has been good (split the Argentinian Steak Wrap and a California Wrap with a friend) and service has been good.
It's big, it's clean and it's not expensive. Sometimes the curly fries are overdone, but that's my biggest complaint. They definitely have a lot of regulars, esp elderly people and it's nice to see the way the staff treats them so kindly.
NYC is losing too many diners so I would like this one to hang around.
All I can say is yummy !
I had the Belgium waffles and coffee before my morning huddle at work and it was breakfast-tastic !!
Service was with a smile ! ( I love a great smile )
This diner was adorable and the food was really, really good. I came by myself for a nice quiet dinner with a book I was very eager to read. The matzo ball soup was a definite highlight! As an entree I had the "herb-crusted chicken" Friday dinner special – it was a bit on the garlicky side, but very tasty overall. My sides of mashed potatoes and peas and carrots were also top-notch. As a Jersey girl, I am a sucker for diners and this is definitely one I would return to and recommend to pals.
My friends and I were looking for a 24 hour diner in NY after the Bad Boy Reunion concert and the cab driver suggested Cafeteria. We arrived and the line was outrageous so I pulled out my trusty Yelp app which revealed that Good Stuff was just around the corner!
We took the short walk there and to our surprise there was no line, no wait and there were no crowds. We walked in and were seated right away. Our server was very nice and attentive and got everything out as ordered. I got the lumberjack which was 3 pancakes, 2 eggs, sausage, bacon and ham for $11.50. It was very good. The pancakes were some of the best I've had outside of IHOP. The waiter brought ample butter and syrup before the food arrived, which we all appreciated. This place was a win. And all this at a reasonable price in NYC. I'm sold. So if you're in the area stop in and get some good food at Good Stuff!
Solid diner at a convenient location. Came with a group of 6 plus 2 babies and didn't have any wait for a Sunday brunch. Extensive menu. High chairs. Good lighting. Friendly service. Average food. It's a great option if you're in the area and craving diner food!
Decent enough choice for late night breakfast but if I ask for my home fries to be made well done then don't give me almost raw potatoes!!!!!
That is one of my major pet peeves when it comes to diners, and the same thing happened here. Home fries and french fries should be made well done with some crispiness to them. Not cold and barely cooked spuds!
Other than that this diner was ok. Nice funky retro decor, attentive friendly service, clean, plenty of seating, well lit, large enough menus, and tasty coffee that woke me up at midnight.
The egg white and veggie omelet I ordered was huge and delish. The whole wheat toast looked like some generic brand that was as bad as Wonder Bread, or worse. My gal had an egg cream that was pretty good, and she liked her omelet. Again, my home fries were lame with little to no seasoning on them. Hardly ate them.
All in all it was a mixed bag here. Props for being open 24/7 and feeding us after a night out. Good coffee and omelets. Big thumbs down on those almost raw spuds. Bleech!
Standard diner breakfast. Pretty large number of offerings. Huge portions.
I visited on a weekday morning and was seated immediately.
Good place for a morning meeting. Open 24 hours.
I was once again on the prowl for good eatin' at 4AM. Even the bars were closed by this time, so there I was hunting for ANYTHING open. Lo and behold, the Good Stuff Diner shone brightly with its big electric red letters up above.
I sauntered in and was warmly seated by the manager. Even at this hour, you still had young couples not really eating their food because they were too busy with PDA, again guys in suits telling inappropriate jokes (I tell ya they follow me everywhere LOL), and of course the vampires like yours truly.
I ordered two scrambled eggs, sausage and cheese on a buttered and toasted roll. You all know by now I'm an egg fiend 🙂 Maybe 6 or 7 minutes later, my waiter came back with the big, plate sized roll. I was squealing inside because finally, a place that serves generous portions!! And every bite was warm and comforting, like a July morning.
I felt so relaxed that I just didn't want to go home. So in between my breakfast sandwich bites, I kept ordering an unlimited number of coffee refills. No, I'm not being repetitive with my pictures today, I did indeed drink this many cups of coffee 🙂
What I enjoyed best here isn't even the food & drink which were great, but the friendly and welcoming atmosphere. Everyone from the manager to the waiters and even the delivery guy greeted me and every other patron. I was soo pleased that I left a tip that was almost the full amount of my actual bill 🙂
