  1. I've had a 5 year love/ hate relationship with this place and now that I'm out of the Bronx for good I finally decided to do a review. Why love? Mainly because there is nothing else around and their weekday happy hour is something to do without going to the city. Would I come here if I didn't live across the street? No. Other than beer and happy hour appetizers, I think the festive salad and the grilled chicken flatbread are pretty good. Reasons why I don't like this place? A bunch of random things. In a large group we've often found mistakes on our bill. We also started telling them that we're there for happy hour, because once they tried to charge us full price because apparently "you have to ask for happy hour" wtf. Also, stopped getting anything but beer there, because it's hard to ruin (but you might have to wait for that beer for a while). Back when I still used to get mixed drinks you'd get one super sugary mojito followed but a completely different one that you can't even drink. I've also been served my favorite festive salad with a couple of ingredients missing, because "the kitchen ran out". That's fine, but you should have told me that before you brought it out. Basically, a lot of small things that wouldn't fly in the city but you have to deal with because there are no restaurants around in the Bronx

  2. I have a love-hate relationship with Good to Go. I've taken out from here frequently over the years and overall they send me mixed feelings.

On the positive side, they serve good food; if you're eating in or taking out I recommend the goat cheese salad topped with shrimp or grilled chicken or the Italian Cobb salad. The house dressing that comes standard with the salads is tasty. Most of their other dishes are very good, there's really no wrong thing to order off the menu. They're a busy place, you may have to wait a little if ordering on the phone but they're friendly which makes me not mind.

My problem with Good to Go is their inconsistency as far as delivery and speed of service. During peak times it can take over a hour for them to deliver your food, so I would usually just go and pick it up. More than once they've forgotten items in my order and have had to come back. Once, they overlooked my order all together; to make up for it they gave me a free 2-liter bottle of soda, only to find out it was an already open bottle (gross).

On a more personal note, I'm not a fan of the name "Good to Go" – it never sat right with me.

All in all, I like Good to Go – they make good food and their staff is friendly. However, you need to know what to expect with the service. If you're taking out I would definitely pick it up if you can. Even with it's inconsistencies I will probably be back.

  3. I usually sit at the bar with friends. Chrissy (the bartender) is amazing..She makes great Cosmos and the food is great. I have the same thing every time i go so i will recommend the wings and waffle fries. There's outdoor seating and valet parking!

  4. EHHHH….I've been wanting to try this place for a while. I mean, I see all these mixed reviews, which I'm sure half are fake anyway. But regardless, I went for lunch.

First off, the place looks waaaaay better inside then it does from the outside. Lots of room and comfortable seating. I ordered a turkey and bacon flat bread, which was actually pretty damned good. I cleaned the plate.

My issue? I'm not sure what kind of atmosphere they're shooting for in an Italian restaurant. They need to shoot the person in charge of the music. You think a doctor from the hospital across the street, taking some colleagues for a nice lunch want to hear blasting Akon, JLo or the dirty version of "Run This Town?" Hearing Kanyeeze say "everyone on your dick, no homo" during lunch in a nice place makes me shake my damn head. Once inside, that's the last thing you'd expect to hear. Gaga? Ne-Yo? Is this TGI Friday's?

I'm not a prude or anything because I know most of the lyrics to those songs, but there's a time and  place to play them. Not a "nice" restaurant.

As for the service, the girl was on point, but needed help. She was literally doing everything which led me to wait and wait for my check and then wait even more for my change.

    Wow! Classy? ahh no.

  5. So this review is solely based on the desserts I had, lava cake and apple crisp, as well as the latte, bread, and service. It was so refreshing to sit outside and just enjoy sweet heaven in a plate! The lava cake really kills!

  6. Went to Good to Go for Christmas Eve dinner. Was happy they were open late enough to accommodate an evening meal without a prefix menu. Mixed reviews on the food. Out of three meals one was tasteless. Ordered the red velvet cake for dessert and it was terrible – tasted like the refrigerator- the waiter removed it from our bill which was very agreeable.  The restaurant itself is small but has a bar with seating, a small party room, and outdoor seating area. Overall a good place to hang out and be causal in the neighborhood. Anyone who lives in the Morris Park / Pelham Parkway area knows that bars and casual hang outs are few and far between. The staff was friendly – another plus.

  7. If you ever want an amazing b UT very expensive salad, go here. Their salads are amazing and so are their wraps.

  8. This is a great restaurant, located in the no-man's land of Eastchester Road north of Westchester Square and adjacent to the hospitals. I knew Good to Go was here, but admittedly, the name kind of turned me off. I thought it was just going to be a pizza joint.

Once you walk closer to the establishment, there's a cute little outdoor seating area… too bad there's no view. Inside, the dining room is dark and clean, very grown. Light hints of orange give the room a warm glow.

For starters, you're given a basket of warm, soft bread with an irresistible garlic and olive oil dip. Refills are free… but don't fill up on the bread, because portions are really huge!

I had an interesting and affordable pasta dish called Seafood Duo with stuffed clams and shrimp. The stuffing was good, not too bready and with a decent amount of clam. The linguine that accompanied it was plentiful and garlicky.

Also to note is a full bar with a variety of interesting cocktails and mojitos. Drinks aren't too strong, but they're not weak, either.

My only complaint: like others have said, the Top 40 music can grate on the nerves after a while… but since it's a nice atmosphere, it can be excused.

Brotip: They have happy hour on weekdays from 5-7 PM.
