Gotham City Diner
“Once you enter, you'll see that the bar is fashioned to look like a NYC train, complete with handle bars above your head.”
“The overall diner has a great feel for it, feels like nyc with the subway signs and huge space so you'll be seated right away…”
“Overall: Solid diner food, with huge variety, reasonable prices, nothing spectacular, but I can't really quibble about anything, either.”

Has the appearance of a thriving / delicious NJ diner, but looks can be deceiving! The food is pretty much terrible. I will give the fries some props, but honestly, who can screw up fries? Everything else tastes like something I would create in a drunken stupor on a Saturday night. Been here numerous times over the years and it's always the same. Today my wife and I indulged in a dried out French Dip and a tuna melt on a raw English muffin.
Honestly, it's our fault since we knew what we were getting into, but COME ON now!
Don't go here unless it's 2:00am and you're 13+ beers deep
I enjoyed eating breakfast here. The staff and service was on point. The table and seating was clean and comfortable. The inside of the restaurant was cold though. We asked to be seated in a warmer spot and the waiter couldn't help us with that. The food came out relatively quickly and it tasted good.
Only a few things on the menu are really good and everything else is mediocre at best. Even with that said, I do love the place. Might be a little biased, due to the fact I grew up eating at the diner, and it was always the go to spot after late nights drinking or social events. The place is of good size, so accommodating large groups isn't so much of an issue. The service sometimes is lacking, but it's a typical good jersey diner and their wraps and salads are some of the best around!
Two Words: London Broil Wrap All Day!
I may or may not have went over.
I've been coming here since I was in high school and I love this place. Honestly, this is is the best diner food I've had, ever.
If you like food, I highly and sincerely recommend the London broil wrap. It is accompanied by curly fries. Make sure to order house sauce on the side.
The inside looks like NYC. There are subway signs, handle bars like you would find on a train, etc. It's pretty cute. Also, it's bigger on the inside.
Disclaimer: This review might be lower rated because I did not really have an appetite this weekend so all food was all bleh to me.
We got the pepperoni pizza over the top fries. It was literally fries with mozz cheese and pepperoni slices. The marinara sauce was a bit dried up and not as much as I expected.
I also got the avocado benny. There was a bit too much sauce and the bread was a bit too hard to chew through.
I think overall, if you're craving diner food and you're not expecting mind-blowing stuff this place will hit the spot. I do love diner food a lot, but I wasn't too impressed or excited about it.
To simply put it…this is a very average diner. I have been here a few times over the years.
Large menu with tons of choices.
Plenty of places to sit.
Large parking lot, clean bathrooms. Service is decent in the establishment.
The apps are pretty good.
Recently I have used their delivery service which is very quick! No delivery fee.
I will also give my comment on the three food items I have tried in the past few weeks.
French onion soup that was delivered– a little cold and not really flavorful. They also stuff a large piece of bread in there which you need a knife to break it apart inside the soup. I just find it weird. Overall, very sloppy.
The red hook burger- asked for medium rare and it was perfectly cooked. Very weak with the chipotle mayo sauce though and they tend to overload on the onions. Take a few of those out and it's a decent burger. Also comes with French fries which I'm not too crazy about either. Not crispy and a little undercooked.
The turkey club-pretty good. Nice crispy bacon. The turkey is not overly dry and the portion is pretty big.
Food is a solid 2 1/2 stars depending on what you get but I opted for the three because of their easy delivery service and is a reliable spot to go when you need to grab a spot to eat late night.
Ive been here a million times. Cant even remember what dishes I've had. A lot of their stuff is frozen, like the appetizers–so beware. However, they do have a full equipped bar..and NOW a SALAD BAR!. Theres a big lot to park in and plenty of seating. I was here last night and well, their grape leaves were good. Breakfast stuff is always a good go-to item to get here. Its clean, but sometimes service can be slow.
they have gotten a lot better from what i remember. their food tastes better, bigger portions, and reasonably priced. the gryo's good, the burger's and other meats don't come out the temperature you order it though… all well done..!! besides that, the food is generally good and well portioned for a hungry eater. the menu consists of typical diner foods, breakfast, lunch, dinner at any time.
the service is okay… they get fairly busy at lunch time and the service lags behind, but nothing significant. they take orders slowly, but the food comes out relatively fast after you've ordered it.
Overall, it's a typical diner with good food options. I'd come here again if the diner mood strikes.
