Unique, exceptional selection of wines and spirits from around the globe. An outstanding array of fine whisky from Scotland! Fair pricing. Very knowledgeable, helpful staff.
Very reasonable wine pricing. I was expecting to be overcharged considering the area; however, 8 out of 10 wines that i scanned for prices were cheaper here than the national average (according to my app). Some of the sulfates i selected:
*A lovely and highly rated (3.7 out of 5 stars, and based on 106 ratings) Red Aglianico for $14.99 while the average price was $17. Aglianico, dubbed the Barolo of the South, has recently been gaining popularity. Traditionally not a very popular Italian wine, the Southern blend is unfortunately not carried in alot of liquor stores, so i was happy to find a bottle here.
*An unknown DOCG Chianti to my Sangiovese loving eyes. I haven't seen this particular bottle in my two local liquor stores, so i snatched it for $12.99. Average price turns out to be $14, while the average rating was 3.8 out of 5 stars (based on 61 reviews).
*Last but not least, i chose an organic grape French Cabernet Sauvignon/Merlot blend from Languedoc-Roussillon. Although not super highly rated (2.9 Stars out of 5 – based on 30 ratings), i gave it a go.
I didn't actually buy something here but the worker spent time helping me look for exactly what I wanted and was honest about not even having something similar. he recommended me to another store that he knew would have exactly what I wanted. Top notch service! Way to go! I live across the street and definitely be back here when I need wine / liquor (I checked prices while I was here and they are definitely fair).
Gramercy Wine is a local wine and liquor without the standard glass canopied encasement to prevent selling to minors under 21 in accord to New York State law. $2.00 for mini liquor bottles is rather overpriced as opposed to the outer boroughs at $1.25. Service is mediocre as they only sell liquor and are not knowledgeable.
Gramercy Park Wine conveniently sits on 23rd Street's 4, 6 trains nearby Park Avenue South.
Great wines for ever price range, super friendly staff, props to Tristan for his great liquor suggestions. Nice decor and clear layout in a convenient location.
One of my new favorite places to get wine after work. They have a good selection and a good number of wine tastings to try out new stuff. The people who work here are knowledgeable.
