  1. Love this bakery! The best one in the area.

We go here for their cannolis all the time & they are better than any cannoli you can get in Little Italy! Only $2, too.

Oh ace also had their cakes and a few different cookies – everything is always fresh and presented well.

  2. 2.5 stars. I had a craving for some Italian baked goods and Grandma's Bakery did not satisfy that craving. Maybe I didn't order the right things, but from flavors to textures, it wasn't that good. I got half a pound of butter cookies (apricot filling & chocolate filling), cream puffs and a slice of pineapple buttercream cake (?). Service was alright, not the most friendly, but still helpful if you have questions. I'm not sure what the prices were, but considering I got everything under $10, everything must be priced at reasonable prices. The cake didn't taste very fresh and it was wet and too sweet so I don't recommend it.

The cream puffs were very disappointing! I couldn't identify what type of cream they used, but they told me it was custard. The taste and texture was just weird while the pastry part was kinda stale. The butter cookies were alright, but I've certainly had better; butter cookies should melt in your mouth, not crumble to pieces when you bite into it. Overall, this bakery might be ok for the things I didn't try, but I won't be back since the things I do like, they don't make very well. There are lots of Italian bakeries in the area!

  3. I could have just had the HUGEST agrument with you and it could all be resolved with one thing – any cookie from this place.

Never ever found fault with anything from here, except buying more then what I originally intended perphaps.  Friendly girls behind the counter (calm down all you raging hormones out there) and you can eat off the floor in here (which is great in case you drop your cookie on the floor).

  4. Went for the first time after moving to the neighborhood since my co worker raves about them.

I love love cookies!! Some bakeries at the end of the day have crummy stale cookies, my husband and I went after work at 6ish and drove the girl crazy picking cookies. They were all super friendly and had so much patience– most importantly the cookies tasted fresh and soft and amazing.

    Definitely glad I went !

  5. so i called my friend one morning and made him get out of bed to drive to bensonhurst so we could go on a cannoli crawl. this crawl involved trying 8 different cannolis from different places in the area.

after deciding that we had been walking too long (approximately 5-7 minutes) without trying a new cannoli (that may be a gross underestimation). grandma's bakery rocked up in front of us so we stopped in.

the cookies looked good and they had my favorite cookies (the lace ones with the chocolate inside) – which weren't memorable at all

our initial reaction was:  the cream tasted like icing, too sweet, weird sprinkles on it made it awkward

however, upon further discussion, we learned that 1.. we were slowly but surely becoming ridiculous cannoli snobs and 2. all ricotta filling should be a little sweet but more creamy than sweet. 3. weird sprinkles are a norm and are either peppermint pieces or slices of citrus, neither of which we found appealing

not my favorite bakery and definitely not worth traveling to bensonhurst for
