  1. Veggie tacos. Amazing. Now this place is a hole in the wall and if it wasn't for the recommendations I wouldn't have walked in here. They also serve pizza which no one seems to order (decorative purposes?). The Mexican food is prepared with care and the ingredients are fresh.

If you eat in they serve you on ceramic plates and they care about taste and presentation, if you focus on those two things you'd think you were in SoHo.

  2. The quesadilla here is freaking HUGE.  Lots of food for a very reasonable price.  My only qualm is that I wish they'd packed my to-go meal with more care.  The container wasn't closed when they handed me the bag, and despite my walking it slowly and carefully back to the office, it left a huge mess.  Also, my friend and I ordered the exact same thing right after one another without any special requests, but mine was missing beans, sauces, napkins, and every thing else that came with his lol.  I should have ordered in Spanish haha.

Overall though, great food.  Would come again but have someone else order for me lol.

  3. I have tried the tacos, burritos and pizza here and here's my verdict – mediocre food.

The pollo tacos are probably the tastier of other food I have tried here. Pizza is claerly the worst. STAY AWAY from it. This is NOT the place to get a pizza, there are amazing places all over the city. Stick to your tacos.

  4. I've come by here a couple times as it's close by, and I've been told that their food was very good. It's definitely one of those hole-in-the-wall spots that are plentiful in NYC but doesn't stand out at all – just a divey joint serving some homespun Mexican food. After ordering at the counter, you can park yourself at a table or stand around awkwardly (my method of choice for waiting) for about 5-7 minutes until your order is done. Burritos, tacos, tortas, enchiladas, platters – there are plenty of choices to choose from, as well as meats across the board that are the same for each item. That's a nice touch, as usually it seems like most spots I've been to will charge more for anything that isn't chicken.

That said, the first experience I had here (which was a carnitas burrito) was disappointing. The carnitas themselves are so juicy and succulent that it puts the oversalted variety at Chipotle to shame. The rest of the burrito, though, was incredibly bland, with way too much rice and a small portion of beans thrown in. With sour cream drizzled conservatively on top, and the hot sauce (which is always good here) to add, it was a little more flavorful, but it was one of the most boring burritos I have ever eaten, and at $9-10, isn't worth it IMO. The tacos, on the other hand, are fantastic. They put a bit of guacamole on them, which is a huge plus (why not on the burrito?), and with a decent amount of cilantro (more would be better) and lime wedges to add a bit of acidity, you get some really delicious bites, especially once you add the hot sauce. The carnitas were fabulous, while the chicken had good flavor but was a bit dry and tough for my liking.

I'll definitely come back for the tacos, and possibly try out some more of the other offerings. The burritos are just a bland carb bomb that did nothing for me, so I'd recommend staying away from it, even if the name of this place is 'Great Burrito'.

  5. In my experience, Mexican food never failed me, and this spot is no exception!

You walk in, and it feels like you're in Corona, Queens.. trust me, no complaints there!
It can seat about 10-12 people which is great considering how small the place is.  If you're all about cleanliness, and only eat at places with Food Inspection grades with A+ or higher, don't walk in.  Garbage is right by the seating area, and all their beverages in the fridge are dusty [Nothing a napkin or wet-wipe can fix!]
Luckily, I could care less! So no stars deducted there aha.

Food is BANGIN'!  I've only gotten the Tostadas and Tortas here and I almost always get it with Lengua which is Beef tongue YUM! Tortas are great, it's like a mexican sandwich,  Tostadas are delicious too, they've got a nice crunch, and even with all the stuff they put on it, the crispy shells keep its form!

Make sure to grab a handful of napkins because it's going to get messy! Also ask for  Guacamole on the tostadas, it's a nice touch and NO it still won't fall apart!

OH and ask for the Jalapeños on the side because they are MUY PICANTE!

Service is straight-forward, you walk up to the counter, they take your order, you pay, they call you up when you're food is ready and then you feast.  I'd love to chat with them but it can get a little hectic in there; cmon… Cheap Mexican grub in the Flatiron District.  And plus, I just want my delicious Mexican grab-and-gos!

  6. A hole in the wall that has legit tacos and tortas. Bring cash.

Lunch order: 3 tacos al pastor $8
Dinner order: 1 al pastor sandwich $8

  7. It's late at night after a Mets game and we had taken the train back by the hotel. I checked Yelp and this place came up and was cash only. I only had $24 and wasn't sure what to get. Turns out I got two of the best beef and pork tacos I've ever had. Nice Mexican places don't have food this good. Place is tiny and no frills w just a few tables by the grill and otherwise is carry out. This place is a total hidden gem and a must try if you're a fan of tasty food and no frills places.

  8. Officially became my Go-To spot after work. I bartend, and get off work pretty late….and in that area, nothing food-related is really open. This spot is just heaven. They stay open all day until 5am, to reopen at 9am.Those hours alone are super convenient.

The service is very attentive and the staff are super friendly and quick with making the food. My favorite plate is the Bistec Encebollado (Steak and onions dish with rice lettuce and beans); This plate is super inexpensive and literally is loaded with so much food. Worth the price for sure!!! TRUST ME.

The place is tiny but has a fast turnover. the decor isnt the best but there food is just super awesome – so who cares.

See you guys very soon Im already hungry …..xoxo
