  1. I came in here hoping to get a few ingredients for a noodle soup and some frozen dumplings.

There was definitely alot of good stuff on the shelves, but it was a little bit expensive. Though it was much cleaner than most other supermarkets in the area, and didnt smell as bad as HKS.

Only the cashiers speak English, so its a little difficult to ask for help from the floor workers unless you know Chinese.

  2. The same rule of thumb goes for all Chinese grocery stores/stands – get there early, especially on the weekends. The freshest stuff is piled up at around 8:45 a.m. daily. I usually try to get here at about 9 a.m. on weekends in order to avoid the crowds.

Shopping around the holidays of Chinese Lunar New Year or Mid-Autumn Festival? Be prepared for grand-theft-shopping-cart. Yes, leave your empty shopping cart unattended for 30 seconds and it will be stolen while you select the freshest fruit you can find.

Vegetables are generally quite fresh in the mornings, with significant varieties available for your choosing. The butcher section has meats for reasonable prices. All types of Chinese sauces and snacks are available here, too! Fruit sales here are amazing!

If you're looking for Organic items, this isn't for you. Try Trader Joe's, instead. This place serves the salt of the earth Chinese immigrants attempting to survive in Queens County.

The parking lot can become a terrible place to be when crowded. Spaces are poorly marked and all parking spaces are extremely small. Careless cart drivers may slam their shopping carts into your vehicle by accident, likely without your knowledge.

  3. 3.5 stars.. just b/c i can get a freaking basket in this place. like most chinese supermarkets in queens the aisle only fits 1 butt cheek and the lines reach end to end, it's loud, people are obnoxious, and it's cold.   On a plus side, they have everything– a very large seafood and meat section that's separate as well.  the lobsters were expensive and not good– never buy the crazy cat size ones, the meat will deteriorate by the time it finishes cooking.  Prices are comparable to other place, and another plus is having a parking lot.  keep in mind squealers. they sell live turtles and frogs!!
