  1. The food here is so great and tastes like authentic greek food. Their greek fries are light and fluffy, salad is perfect. Pita w falafel is good too! I take out from here all the time! You must try the three dip sampler: tzaziki, hummus, and pepper feta yum. The pita here is home made and super fresh And always hot when I open the bag.        I have suggestions for this new spot: 1) serve Ice no one likes drinks room temp or chilled we like ice! 2) serve real water bottles not just pelligrino 3) add lettuce to your salads. I like the greek salad and the beet salad (I buy it, bring it home and throw over a bag of arugula. It really makes a difference) 4) get high chairs they sell them for 20$ at ikea and they wipe clean. This is the ues I come once a wk with my kids and theres no place for them to sit and be contained. Hope you take these into account because food is great but this would make it even better.

  2. Love the space – huge windows open out onto the street so it feels very airy and surprisingly sort of Mediterranean for being located on 1st Avenue! Came here for a casual lunch with my boss and it was perfect – the food is delicious and the portions are gigantic. I didn't think I was going to be able to finish my sandwich, but obviously because it was so tasty I ate the whole thing. Affordable, casual, no frills, will definitely be back.

  3. Definitely turning out awesome Greek food and is becoming a main staple for me as a lunch option here in UES.
The restaurant clean and spacious. It offers a modern decor and he best part is the menu is short and simple so you don't need to get tripped by too many choices. The serve chicken, pork and lamb.

I've been coming here pretty often now and I ually go for the skewers. They are 4 bucks a piece (extra for lamb). Chicken is super juicy and perfectly cooked. Out of the 5 times I've gotten the pork skewers they have always been dry and chewy so I learned my lesson. But if you are looking for some clean simple grilled meat the chicken never disappoints!

They have gyros and souvlakis. If you get the souvlaki get the LAMB! So juicy and the addition of those French fries with their amazing tsaziki sauce is just perfect!

If you happen to get the gyro get the PORK! It's not dry like the skewers. This pork is sliced thin and seasoned perfectly and it also comes with fries in the gyro and that awesome tsaziki sauce! (Probably my new favorite thing There)

They also have Greek fries which consists of feta and cilantro. Not bad but not worth the extra for some feta crumbles… Still good tho so give it a try

NOW FOR THE SPREADS: tsaziki is definitely one to try! They have a whipped spicy feta spread that is great, and eggplant spread that is awesome, an average tasting hummus, and fish roe spread that is an acquired taste. Forgive me for not giving you the actual names of the spreads but trust me when you get there you'll see why I can't spell them. All the spreads come with warm delicious pita slices. And pro tip : if you can't decide which spread to get try the taste of spreads where you get 3 diff spreads!

also the staff is very friendly and the managers are very active in making sure you enjoy your food which is rare to find. It's nice.

    I'll be back for sure.

  4. Does an insanely brisk business with the hospital staff and other locals at lunch – pick up, delivery, take out, and eat-in all had a steady stream on a hot Friday afternoon. They have a few small tables that are first come, first serve (but don't try and claim a table before ordering!). Staff does a good job of turning over tables, and few people are looking to laze about after finishing their meals, but don't count on eating in.

Chicken gyro was packed with meat, veg, and fries; pita was of the moderately fluffy variety. Pork skewer was delicious – generally moist with good flavor – and combined with an order of fries was the perfect amount of food for 1. The pack of skewers is a great value.

Considering the location, quality, and quantity prices are extremely competitive. At my suburban Greek street fair you pay 3/4$ for a pork skewer and 7/8$ for a gyro.

  5. 4.5 stars

Affordable and delicious Greek food for any occasion!  The ambience is inviting, especially with their white brick walls and booth seats, but you can also take your order to go.  I love how the staff are friendly and always smiling.

We ordered the souvlaki pita sandwich ($9), which has fries wrapped on the inside, and the falafel sandwich ($9).  These were part of their "Main Eats" but they also have "Small Eats" and "Dip & Eat".  We also tried the Rice Pudding ($6) which was dusted with cinnamon on the top.  I liked the texture of the rice but it tasted bizarre with the cinnamon.

The free water seals the deal if the food, service, decor, and price hasn't yet!

  6. I'll admit I'm not very familiar with Greek food, but I do think I know when things taste good and this was gooooood. I had their Greek salad ($10) with a lamb skewer (+$4) and while the prices weren't particularly a bargain, I'd say it's fair enough.

Atmosphere wise, very modern, very chic, the table that I sat at had a roll of paper that came down from the wall. Kind of like a paper table cloth roll kind of deal, smart move. The menu is painted on the wall, easy to read, and water is available to serve yourself on the side. Though I came in excited to try their tasty sounding items, I was just a little disappointed that I wasn't greeted nor even given a smile. Just something that's a little important to me as it sets the mood for the rest of my meal.

Overall, definitely worth checking out for the food. But I'd say get it to go if service with a smile is important to you like it is for me.

  7. Typically I usually only run around lower Manhattan, so whenever I find my self in the UES, I never really know what to eat. Thanks to my trusty Yelp app I found Greek Eats. The store is one of the nicest Gyro fast food restaurants that I have been to. Somehow they were able to modernize a classic Greek look. There are giant bottles of olive oil in the back!

In coming to this place twice, I've had the Pork Gyro and the Falafel Sandwich.

The Pork Gyro, as recommended by my fellow yelpers was excellent. The Pork wasn't dry conveniently in bit sized chunks. Accompanied in the sandwich were fries and pepper and onions. The fries definitely gave the sandwich a great bite and textural difference. I would recommend this dish for any first time visitors.

The Falafel Sandwich, perfectly satisfied my rare craving for falafel. Deep fried and crunchy on the outside, while fluffy and soft on the inside. I love that they have great falafel here, giving a great option to vegetarian eaters is great!

As for appetizers, I've had the fries and spreads platter. The fries are a bit greasy but they're still pretty good. I love their spreads but I do wish that the tzatziki was a warmer? It was rather cold and was hard to dip into.

Overall, Greek Eats, is a great addition to the area. If you're look for better options than hospital food, I would definitely suggest that you swing by here and try some of their food.

  8. This cute joint is packed with an amazing staff. We wanted to sit at the cool tables with the roll of paper coming from the wall. There seem to be a malfunction with the paper roll and the staff made it a huge deal! We were fine with it dangling but they were persistent with finding a way to fix it. I had the falafel sandwich for 9 bucks and it was not a neat eat. I decided to eat it with a fork and knife because it was too messy and I can't say I loved the sandwich. I definitely had better. It was a bit above average since it wasn't dry or mushy. The portion was filling for a hungry cow and we ended our meal with rice pudding. It doesn't seem like you get waited service but you do. They bring out your entrees first then dessert after finishing the main meal. The rice pudding had a sprinkle of cinnamon and ehh. I guess I don't fancy rice pudding anymore unless it's from rice to riches. Nothing beats the variety of rice to riches. Overall, a great lunch spot for Greek nearby.

They have free water near the cashier that is self serve.
