The place is in a good location. There is a view of the water is you sit outside and nice little shops all around.
The appetizers were great. I really like the grilled calamari. The beet salad was good. It came with garlic potatoes that tasted good but I would have preferred them to be warm instead of cold.
My boyfriend ordered the lamb chops for a main course and liked them a lot. I ordered the gyro mix and found it to be a bit plain. There was a yogurt sauce that came with it that I didn't like and without it the meat was plain.
Things we liked: plain calamari appetizer and lamb chops.
Things that weren't great: beet salad and gyro platter.
Service: service was good. The staff is friendly and mature for the most part.
The place is a bit pricey for what it is and for the area but the food is good.
My meal was so freakin' delicious! Highly recommend the Garides Ellinikes which is shrimp in tomato sauce with feta. The flavor was incredible! Chunks of garlic and mushrooms…so good. I ate the rest for the lunch the next day and it was even better. The rice blends perfectly with this dish. I ate outside and the service was very friendly and professional. I only tasted the salmon wrapped in grape leaves but that too was great. Love it!
Went for Daily Lunch Special
Food – 5/5. The pita they start you off with is toasted with olive oil and herbs which gives it that little extra flavor to make it tasty. Their grilling techniques are superb and really brings out the flavor of the food. The salmon was tender with a great crust, the carrots had their natural sweetness intensified and the zucchini and onion were cooked enough to be soft but still have a good bite. I thought the eggplant was a bit on the bitter side but it might just be the nature of the eggplant. The rice was fluffy and seasoned well. The salad isn't dressed but the mixture of romaine and parsley makes it a nice palette cleanser as you eat the rest of your delicious meal.
Service – 4/5. Polite and friendly. They always offered to give me more pita and I thought the steak knife for a salmon was unnecessary but I appreciate when they offer the little things without being asked.
Price – 5/5. They have a wide variety for their lunch specials ranging from $8 to $13. The salmon platter I had was $13 and came with a nice portion of salmon, rice, salad and four types of grilled vegetables. The food was delicious and I think $13 for a salmon plate is a great bargain. Definitely recommended for Greek food in the area!
Parking – Mall Lot (Free)
This place makes some legit Greek food.
The service is awesome and friendly.
They make some great seafood dishes. I especially liked their oysters and the cheese stuffed calamari was something I have never had before, and its was delicious.
It is a BYOB joint, and thus, my friend and I enjoyed our wine with some legit Greek food!
I don't know why I waited so long to come to this place, which is literally a stone's throw from my house. I may have stopped in once for a salad a long time ago. Came here for dinner and was happily surprised with the food and portion sizes. The gyro platter was delicious and was enormously. My other friends got the ribeye which looked perfect, shrimp skewers and a lamb casserole. Service was good. Pricing reasonable. Left a happy diner and my dog was extremely happy with the leftovers.
Great location in the promenade but the food just simply falls flat. It looks and even feels like it would be a good dining experience but just wasnt.
Ordered the gyro platter and the gyro meat lacked flavor. Seems like they went with a lesser quality meat wnd the meat lacked seasoning. This reminded me of a "its greek to me" chain rather than authentic greek.
Service was good dont get me wrong just food was lacking.
Stopped here for lunch one day while in the area and enjoyed a salmon platter that was served with rice and salad. I was looking for a healthy alternative and this fit the bill. The fish was well prepared and the rice was tastier than average. The salad was also good. Service was prompt and the price was reasonable for what I ordered. While I don't know that I would go out of my way to come to this restaurant, I would certainly consider it when I am in the area.
I've dined at Greek Taverna a number of times, and I have yet to be disappointed in the food or service.
I have gotten the hummus on many occasions. I noticed the last time I was there the taste was off, and it was not as creamy as it usually is.
The Lamb Souvlaki on the lunch menu was very good. I've also had the Gyro there and it was also wonderful.
In the past I've had a lamb dish for dinner with the spinach rice, and it was also very good.
This is a restaurant I plan on returning to in the future. 🙂
