  1. Came on a Friday morning with a pretty large group and the service was fairly quick and attentive. I don't generally care for omelettes but I ordered the Western one. It had green peppers, onions, ham, and cheddar. Well-made and NOT GREASY. Greasy omelettes are nauseating. This one was simple and tasty. Iced coffee was yummy as well. Huge menu selection and prices are decent I guess. Would return.

  2. As soon as we walked in we got a bad vibe from the waitresses. Awful attitude. The waffles were good, but not amazing. Price is fair but I won't be back.

  3. Have been here a few times. The food is always good but the service and attitude is really BAD. SUPER SLOW. They take forever to make simple dishes and everything you order comes out at different times so your group does not get to eat together. The other big problem is the place is always very SMOKEY. They need an exhaust fan that works, you can see the smoke not even going out the exhaust. Here is a suggestion get a fan in the place to blow the smoke out the door. Not sure why the management or owners  of this place do not read the reviews and try to fix these major problems. Come on people simple fixes get your $hit together.

This was the Owner/Managers reply to my review.
Read your review Ken. I guess on your way in and out you missed the large signs that state that we will be closed this coming Monday thru Wed. for renovations. They've been there for several weeks now. Despite your insulting, self deprecating, bash, that we don't give a shit and or we should get our shit together, as a courtesy please be advised it will all be "together" on Monday. The "simple fix" you referenced will cost a mere 30k . I guess your in the business so you know first hand how easy these "simple fixes" are and that there is so little involved with permits, c/o's, contractors, landlords, closing for days, loss of income, etc. Ordinarily we would apologize for any indiscretion however that will not happen today. Contrary to what you have come to believe ranting on Yelp is counter productive. The old fashioned way of speaking to someone directly is always the best route and the most effective. Your public complaint about "attitude" unfortunately now holds little water. Much like your exaggeration of time between dishes being served. Our surveillance video sure comes in handy in times like these.
Had you spoken to someone at the time of the supposed indiscretion, called or even written directly, instead of running to Yelp the "tattle-taler" site as it is well known, we would have been able to address your supposed concern in a proper manner. We can now only assume that your gripe is not legitimate and that you were simply annoyed by the smoke and possibly receive some "back attitude" in the process from some member of our staff. Whom, I will never know because you chose the Yelp route. Your public bash only served one purpose, for you to vent to strangers, hoping to be heard, in a direct retaliatory effort to hurt a local, independently owned, non-franchise, long standing business. Hardly seems fair especially if you are a local resident.

  4. I've always wanted to try this spot out and enjoyed it. There are a number of items that jump out on the menu, some tailored for breakfast and brunch. I tried the brie-basil waffles and salad and it was a nice brunchy combo of sweet and not sweet tastes. The salad tasted fresh and I liked the way the tomatoes and cucumbers were sliced. The waffle – topped with bacon and cheese, it was very tasty although I found it to be a bit too sweet as it had like a jelly in it while the waffle itself was sweet, instinctively adding syrup made it way sweet. Still the presentation was good.

The resturant is clean, has decent seating and has a cool lounge area I suppose is for waiting but it is pretty smoky in there from the cooking. The staff are very nice but I guess the lack of business at the time caused our waitress to be just watching the table which was a bit awkward. A nice little brunch-fast spot with a variety of things to try for an alright price if you want some flair over the surrounding diners. I'd like to make another visit.

  5. I had the eggs, sausage and waffles. It was average the eggs was not prepared the way I wanted. All i asked for was cheese melted with it. Came back with a slice of processed cheese on top. Waffles was the best thing here nice and crispy on the outside and soft an fluffy  on the inside  Great.  Sausage, unfrozen and served
    – nothing more than that.

Coffee was the usual bodega style. It needed a heaping douse of milk and sugar to hide burnt taste.

The wait staff was particular awesome, The two guys working the counter were comic book/ sci-fi people, So we debated and went back and forth.  That was the highlight of the meal.

come here for the great conversation, the food is ehhhhhh

  6. The waffles here are just amazing! Nice and fluffy. I get the Vanilla sugar waffle stuffed with fresh blueberries. Its great if you are having a crazy sweet tooth. You literally only need one! Definitely filling! I also get the Grid's Shrimp n' Grits with Chipotle Garlic Cream Sauce. The bacon is an added bonus. Occasionally, It can be a little on the salty side with the combined flavors, but still an overall hit. The downside is that they do not have combo options. If you want a stuffed waffle it runs you about $4.50, and if you want additional topping it would be more. It would be great if something like that can go with a brunch dish. Another  minus would be the basics; like eggs and bacon. My bacon was under cooked and the eggs are underwhelming. Definitely not prepared the way I like. This place excels at their specialty items. Other than that I am a fan. Plus breakfast/brunch any day is a win.

  7. Waffles are my Top 5 favorite foods of all time. They can be made sweet OR savory. They're pancakes with abs. You can do whatever the heck you want to them. What's not to love?!

We came here for a late brunch on a Saturday and were seated promptly. Anddd that was about the only quick thing about this place.
We skimmed the menu and were ready to order after about 5 minutes. Nobody came around until my bf flagged one of the servers down. Our drinks (water, juice, coffee) took awhile to come out though we were literally seated in front of the counter. Furthermore, our food took 30+ minutes.. I mean don't you just pour the batter into the waffle-maker, add whatever accoutrements, and boom you're done? Seriously there weren't too many customers and our orders were pretty simple– I had the stuffed waffle (white chocolate, dark chocolate, and strawberries) and he ordered the sausage & gravy waffles.
Upon the arrival of our food, come to find they had burnt his waffle which made it difficult to cut/eat and ultimately difficult to enjoy even though the flavors were pretty spot on. My waffle was cooked nicely and was crispy/tasty on the outside, however when I think of "stuffed" I envision that joint to be JAM-PACKED with all that good ish. But nah. Was there even a teaspoon of white chocolate + dark chocolate sauce? BARELY. And I swear they only put like 1.5 strawberries in that piece.
The service was almost non-existent. They also took the longest time giving us our check. Our overall wait-time was longer than the time we spent eating. No exaggeration there.

Perhaps is was just an off-day for this shop, but if you're going to advertise "Waffle" in your restaurant name, you better be darn-sure you can dish it!

  8. A good Sunday breakfast spot. The menu contains both savory and sweet waffle dishes, plus your standard eggs and bacon dishes. I enjoyed my waffle as savory dish. A waffle topped with ham, Gruyere and eggs. The waffles were light and airy. My dish also came with a spring mix salad dressed in a light vinaigrette. I also ordered the fresh squeezed grapefruit juice, which was good but on the small side. I'm not a huge fan of breakfast and didn't expect to like my food, but I actually enjoyed this place enough that I will be returning to try out some other waffle dishes.

The place also has a take out line if you are looking to get breakfast on the go.
