  1. I tried grk a long time ago. Wasn't really impressed. Decided to give it another go today. I got the chicken plate with brown rice and pita. There was something missing in the plate – may be the taste! Chicken was a bit dry, rice a little too sticky for my liking, sauce bordering on too sweet even though it was supposed to be spicy. Overall, it was a tummy filler in my opinion.

  2. I can't think of one thing I didn't like about this place.
Ease of ordering, work your way down the menu and make your choices – EASY.

Taste, very very good, close my eyes and I could be sun kissed, sitting by a traditional gyros cart on a Greek island, it really was rather good.

    $30 for two? Total BARGAIN.

Will I be back? You bet I will.

    Lush.

  3. I've only tried the greek salad with chicken (without feta cheese or onions). Big portion to me, tasty chicken, and it comes with a side of pita which is perfect for the sauce at the bottom. It's around $14.

The wait: the line to order is not too long. I think sometimes they are too fast to take orders. There isn't enough waiting space. The wait for food takes a while. I've never timed it but I think it's between 5-10 minutes. They have a guy yelling numbers – feel bad for him and wonder if any saliva gets on the food that's not wrapped in a bag!

  4. I loved the sleeve the gyro came in, made it very easy to eat. The lamb/beef (delicious but had a more dry texture) with the crisp edges of the pita and habanero sauce made a great combination.

  5. I had a bad experience the first time I tried this place.  I was waiting in that horribly long lunch line and when I finally ended up getting my gyro I was disappointed to discover how inconsistently cooked the meat was, and how bland everything tasted.

I have since gone here when a hunger pang hits me post-lunch hour and avoiding the lunch time rush.  I crave it now.  It's great!  Simple and clean food and not horribly priced.  I have always enjoyed a good chicken gyro and the tzatziki sauce options here are great.

I would definitely recommend – although probably best to not come during lunch and wait 20 -30 min for food.  Ignoring my one-time disappointing experience, I've been consistently satisfied.  I'll probably return when I'm having an off-day and need a chicken gyro for a pick-me-up.

  6. This place is really good I'm only giving it a 4 because I wish they would serve more steam brown rice with the meal. Still good enough, it's quick fresh and healthy and good prices for what you get. Definitely recommend people try the beef and lamb yeero.

  7. Solid Greek spot.

You can get platters with meat.  But I opted for a salad with a side of fries. Salad had huge chunks of tomatoes and cucumbers and topped with feta, olives, and peppers. Dressing wasn't very empowering. Just wish they were a little more generous with the feta.

Fries had a great seasoning. A large portion for a little over $3.

Salad was not cheap, but luckily was a hearty portion.

Easy to be healthy here if you choose that route.

  8. GRK is one of the better lunch options near grand central. It's really quick and the food is pretty good. Normally I tend to order a plate with chicken, grk sauce, and the seasoned fries (which are amazing). I also happen to LOVE the Greek salad. The salad just has large pieces of cucumber, tomato, feta and olives. I tend to visit GRK at least once every other week and it's a great place to go for lunch if you work in the area!
