Grom

“When I studied in Florence in the Fall, and during cold cold cold days the only thing on my mind was to have Grom Gelato!”

“I haven't had Il laboratorio, but grom and some no name little gelato shop in Albuquerque, NM were the best I have ever had.”

“The Caramello and Crema de Grom were equally delish, and it was all topped off with the thick and rich whipped cream.”

  1. Warm weather and ice scream go to together like a wink and a smile. This place simply has the most delicious ice cream I have ever eaten. The natural ingredients and not too sugary sweet toppings were perfect to top off a wonderful afternoon spent on Governor's Island at Johnny's art show.
We came here after eating at John's of Bleecker Street.  It was so worth the price. I am not the biggest fan of ice cream ,or I should say my digestive system isn't,  but I had the pistachio. It was so good, and no aftereffects. If you are in the neighborhood, you must not pass this by without stopping.

  2. Really love Grom and the people who work there are super super nice.  I really didn't know what flavor I wanted so I was that annoying taste tester.  The guy behind the counter was so nice and didn't mind that I was being obnoxious trying to decide the flavors, he then recommended the pistachio which I don't normally order but it was amaaaaazinggggg.  There are also a few seats in the store which is convenient and even tables to sit at outside!  I will definitely come back to try the other flavors of gelato yummmmmm!!

  3. Yum! Getting gelato or sorbet at Grom is always a treat. There can be a bit of a line when it's sunny but it happened to be cloudy today so service was quick. The staff were super friendly, and one guy made nice conversation with my dad because they are both from the south. My dad and I both decided it was a sorbet kind of day, so I had a small cup with apricot and peach, and he had a medium with just lemon. All favors were delicious. In the past I've had my go-to for a good gelato spot like this one, the stracciatella. You really can't go wrong here!

  4. A truly authentic Italian gelataria. Everything from the ingredients to even the Mediterranean cafe styled architecture of the store evokes the feeling of summer in a seaside Italian city.

Like the obnoxious little taste tester I am, I literally pestered the poor staffer behind the counter to taste every flavor they had LMAO. I finally decided that I needed to have two different gelatos. First up was the Torta Siciliana with almonds. It was sooooooo nutty, almost like an vanilla ice cream with but a pistachio nuttiness feel to it.

Because everything smelled so good, and its hot out right now, I had to have even more gelato. I decided on two seperate servings of Pistachio. It has this incredibly thick, dense texture to it, they really make a super creamy ice cream-like product here at Grom! Definitely stop by here any time you're in the neighborhood of West 4th Street.

  5. Stumbled upon Grom on a random long walk when I was in the city a few months ago.  One word: yum!  Some of the best gelato I've ever had – great assortment of flavors and nice consistency.  Yes, it was kind of pricey – but definitely worth the splurge.

  6. Awesome gelato!! Each one that I tried had super potent flavors. It's nice to sit down and enjoy something sweet by the fountain located across the street on a warm summer night.

  7. First time here, the guy who made my order, was straight forward and to the point, just made it, no conversation, no offers to add anything. And I respect that! Mango sorbet was worth it. I would go back!

  8. Ehhh. Authentic gelato, this is not. It comes fairly close but misses the mark slightly. It is a tasty treat to get for sure, but it's absolutely not the best gelato out there. It's creamy but lacking a bit in flavor. Expect West Village prices.
