  1. Came in for lunch with my coworkers today afternoon. There were a fair amount of customers and the place was chatty, lively, and vibrant, which was great! The service was phenomenal. The waiters are always really friendly and truly cater to your every need. Although they were quite busy, they never forgot to come over to our table and refill our side dishes, rice, water, etc.

Today, I got the Jjam Jja Myun (Half jja jang myun and half jjam bbong – $11.99). There was a good amount of it and I didn't have any negative thoughts on this dish. We also got the shrimp ggan poong pi and the regular ggan poong gi, both of which were really delicious and flavorful! They gave an ample amount and all three of us were more than stuffed when we left.

When you receive your check at the end, they give complimentary oranges! Nothing much more to say… I've been absolutely loving the service and food quality I've been experiencing here recently! I totally recommend!

  2. I've been coming here for over 3 years now. It has always been a solid squad spot, which is surprising, since I have yet to review it. I pondered between a 4 and 5 star rating, wondering if my 5 would just be a biased one, but on a hungry day, this place is the best. I still enjoy this place at least once a month (avoiding the previous overkill). Whenever I get my monthly jjajang myun craving, I come here.

This is the usual meal that I order:

    1. Jjajang myun

    2. Bone-in kanpoong gi AND/OR tangsoo yuk

All of the above are very good, especially on a cold winter's day, when you're starving and everyone can't really decide where to go eat.

  3. From the outside looking in, it doesn't seem like it would be a big place but once you step inside, you'd be surprised to see how many it can actually seat.

The weekend appears to be rather busy – almost filled to capacity at peak dinner hours.

The #1 jiajangmyun(?) has a great flavor and is essentially the default dish almost everyone comes in to get.  You'll see it in almost everyone's reviews and now I will agree it's pretty good.
I specifically got the #5 which is a half-half jiajangmyun with spicy seafood soup noodles.  I resort to getting the half-half when I can't decide which I want more of so I get the best of both worlds – hot and spicy vs. sweet and salty.

I came with my friends and we also tried the fried pork which appeared rather frequently on other reviews and that was also a good choice.  The fried pork comes with a variety of sauces so you can pick what suits your taste best.  We split the garlic sauce one and the plate comes with plenty for three of us to split.

  4. I enjoy coming here because the place has a homey feeling to it.

I always get a Tan su yuk and a janjangmyun for two people when I come here . Just wish they added pineapples like sam won gak. The tangsuyuk would then be perfect.

The kim chi is also on point. The service is always super fast.  If I asked for 1 kimchi, I always get two.

Parking is easy to find after 7, free street parking after 7.

  5. Got 2 large jjajangmyun and kang ppong gi for pick up ~$40 total. My parents and I were stuffed and we still had some chicken left for next meal plus a big tub of the jja jang myun sauce which was put to good use the next day with store bought korean fresh noodle.

The noodle was a bit dried/clumpy when we got home (~20 min after pick up). but after cutting the noodle up and adding the sauce in, we were good as new. The chicken was soggy by the time we got home, so definitely order that for dine in but the portion was really good.
The large noodle was also a lot of noodle. all 3 of us were saying how stuffed we were after we finished dinner. There sauce was delicious with lots of softened sweet onions and large visible pieces of pork.

Definitely will come here the next time I have cravings for jjajangmyun. Also, nearby are two decent Taiwanese restaurants, so this is a good location if you want to pick up various types of foods for a night when you don't want to cook.

  6. Decided to try the lunch specials, i ordered baby shrimp with mixed veggies. It came in a medium size platter with deep fried baby shrimp in a sweet, garlic sauce with peas and carrots and it was accompanied with a small bowl of fried rice. All this for $7.95 awesome taste, wish my bowl of fried rice was bigger but this will do.  We also ordered the spicy seafood soup with shrimp, clams, and ococtop. The soup is served with a side of shredded cucumber, the noodles in the soup resemble spaghetti. The broth is red in color and not very spicy. Definitely worth trying. Servers are very attentive, they set up 2 small plates with house made kimchee, raw onion and pickled daikon. The table side tea is very refreshing, so much we consumed 2 pots of hot tea during lunch.

  7. Nice find here in Bayside for some authentic Korean Chinese style food. Upon entering we were happily greeted in Korean and led to our table immediately during an early dinner on Saturday. While it doesn't look like much from the outside its actually capable of seating decent number of tables inside.

The food I've tried here were quite really good and the portion is quite generous. We had enough of the janjang sauce left over for at least another meal or two. The chicken was quite generous as well although for the price we kinda expected a big plate 🙂 It almost taste like Bonchon although I thought the breading weren't as consistent. However its a really minor point since they tasted really delicious.

Definitely try out their flagship menu jangjangmyun if you're fan of delicious noodles. Definitely see myself coming back again if I'm ever in the area. The service throughout our meal was really good since it wasn't a very busy night quite is absolutely a nice plus

  8. My friend brought me here and I think I'll be coming back here often! I couldn't choose between the jjajangmyum or Jjambbong. In the end, I wanted something soupy, so I went with the Jjambbong. It was definitely a good choice because the soup made me feel so warm inside and it was a big bowl. I couldn't finish the noodles and had to give the rest to my friend. The soup was very flavorful and not extremely spicy. In addition, my friend ordered the fried pork to share and that was great as well. After you ask for the check, they serve you oranges!

The waiters were also very sweet and friendly. They always have a smile on their face when they're serving and it makes you like the food even more. 😀
