A real winner! Great combo of delicious + good price. And it was so much food, I just couldn't believe the great price, taste, and quantity. It's the amazing trifecta!
The place is pretty no frills, and maybe people heat here at lunch but they automatically bagged my food so I assume most people take it to go. I got the chicken and lamb mix which comes with a little salad. The motto on the menu is "eat healthy live healthy" but they really slather on the white sauce, which seems less healthy but was really delicious. The employees were helpful when I had a couple of questions and were also pretty quick.
My only critiques: There's a big menu board passed the order area so you have to go passed the order area and then get back in line, but there are little paper to go menus near the order area you could look at instead. Also, when I went there were a bunch of people there and I was a little unsure if they'd ordered or paid or were waiting. I'd appreciate a "order here" and "pay here" or "pick up here" just may be helpful. Oh and I don't want to be "that guy" but there's a sign saying that orders that are $7 don't include extras but they spelled it "oders." It is impossible to do quantity at quality at these prices, totally get it, but reprint that sign.
I can't wait to try the gyros too. The menu isn't extensive, but it does what it does just right. A must for takeout in the area!
Ok. It' s official. This is my new favorite gyro place. I don't know if the whole food and customer service is on point because it's a new place or if it is here to stay. But I am going to enjoy it and keep going back as long as that stays.
it's a 30 second walk from my work place and I have been dragging my colleagues here for lunch since a week. I am on my 4th day streak here.
The food is fresh and prepared right in front of you. It is made to order and the salad is delicious too. Their white and red sauces are creamy and delicious and I am going to take it a step further and say it beats the sauces at Halal guys in the city. The menu is limited and not all over the place which lets the focus stay on the gyro. My favorite is the Chicken and Lamb mix King's special. The meat is fresh, tender and delicious.
The staff is nice and friendly and are kind enough to prepare and tell you the different levels of hot sauce they have without just pouring that all over your food. For $7 I just cannot ask for anything more.
Can't wait to try the chicken tikka platter today.
This place hits the spot if your looking for your chicken and rice fix. It's affordable and portions is plentiful. The location is not that great if you're looking to pop in and out for take out.
What they fall short on is that their trying to be like chipotle and the halal guys. The turn around time is longer than you expected. They need to learn the assembly line. When I was there were 4 guys crammed in the cooking/prep/cashier area. After seeing that I probably wouldn't go out of way to get food.
So far so good – this is a new restaurant minutes away from home …
Is chipotle style – u could add any ingredients to your gyro or platter and just like Chipotle they sprinkle toppings on your food but for $5 I guess u get what u get and you don't complain!
It looks like a lot of food but is more rice than iceberg lettuce , tomato , cucumbers etc…
I tried the platter for $8 and chose chicken and lamb –
Everything was fresh and the restaurant is nice and clean – it gets very full so be patient !
I definitely have to go back to try the gyro before prices go up because I think prices are low for now because of GRAND OPENING!
I also tried the falafels they were crispy and good!
They also have fish….
ALSO be careful where u park and make sure u put money in the meter I swear the parking authority are invisible here – I was looking at my car the whole time turned away to pay for my food – (I know I know but who walks around with change now-a- days?) literally 10 seconds at most (exact change) I go to my car and have a ticket like WTF the parking authority person was gone with the wind because he or she was no where in sight!
Anyway the platter was good but not worth a ticket !
Great place for an inexpensive lunch or dinner! I've had a chicken gyro (it's actually a shawarma) and I've had the lamb platter, and both were great. A small group of us stopped in here last night after the vigil at the Library, and even though it was after 9:30 everything was deliciously fresh. They gave my husband a sample of the falafel and he said it was fantastic. We both had some of our dinners left over and brought them home for today's lunch.
There's tables if you're in the mood to stay. Nothing fancy but definitely welcoming. The guys who work there are very nice.
It's great to see new and different businesses opening in Bloomfield, and I'm very glad to have this place in walking distance from work.
