As a Greek by association, I often find myself craving a good gyro or spanakopita. The problem is, it's hard to find around Westchester (unless its Greek festival time in the early summer). Well, my cravings were finally answered when I tried Gyro Kitchen today. The owner and employees were very friendly and allowed us to try the three different types of meat (lamb/beef, pork, and chicken) before ordering. I ended up getting the lamb/beef plate with lemon potatoes and that ended up being an amazing decision. Everything was on point and seasoned just right. My girlfriend and I shared a spanakopita, and although I thought it was missing some feta, it wasn't bad. Finally, the baklava was amazing; I am not normally a fan of either dessert or baklava but I found myself stealing large portions of my girlfriend's order. I plan on returning often.
Came here for dinner on a Sunday night. We ordered the hummus- $6.35. Fresh lemony tasting hummus served with a generous portion of piping hot pita grilled just right. Also ordered the small Greek salad- $7.75, nice quality tomatoes, cucumbers, bell peppers and red onions served with a red wine vinaigrette and greek feta; no lettuce. For the main course we split a lamb/beef gyro platter- $13.05 and added chicken souvlaki for an additional $2. You get a choice of starch, lemony potatoes, french fries or rice. The meat was delicious. Nicely seasoned, made in the shop and perfectly cooked on the rotisserie. Portion was generous.
For dessert we had the Galaktobouriko. Amazing Greek custard wrapped in the heavenly phyllo dough and drizzled with honey.
The indoors from the dining area to the bathroom was nicely finished and clean with a casual feel to it.
The owner took pride in his shop and I can tell in his customer service and food. Great addition to the four corners. I took home a menu because they deliver for free. I'll definitely be coming back for more! I want to try their shrimp next time.
