A solid Japanese joint on the always bustling Mamaroneck Avenue. Nice, clean interior with efficient servers and a very nice menu. Plenty of lunch specials from which to choose and the pricing in general is fair.
On this occasion I had a couple of handmade rolls plus the seaweed salad and hot & sour soup. All were on point and satisfying.
There is meter parking on the street but it can be a little challenging during prime lunch hours. Small price to pay and to be expected pretty much all up and down the avenue so it's not like avoiding Haiku and dining elsewhere nearby is going to be a better option.
Haiku has really nice decor and a fun vibe, but I'm not sure I'm a fan of their food. I've tried their Malaysian red curry with tofu/veggies and the dish is OK, but no WOW factor. I also noticed a lot more oil than I'm used to with curries. The pad thai was acceptable as well.
