  1. This is my local halal spot right off the train, convenient & consistent. This spot has yet to disappoint. The halal guy does look a little creepy, but once you talk to him he is a good dude.

Choice of yellow or brown rice with fresh salad. There chicken always juicy & flavorful. The lamb not oily & cook slightly char, just the way I like it. White sauce same as every other cart, but the traditional Hotsauce keeps me wanting more.

Mix platter with brown rice & extra Hotsauce for $6.00, how can you go wrong. Best part is that, this spot does not give me the halal burps or heartburn :p

  2. Halal Cart; who can resist? This one is practically at the base of the stairs to the Ditmars stop near the Starbucks. The fragrance of street food drifts in every direction, nearly irresistible to even the strongest constitution. I finally gave in on my way home tonight and treated myself to the Lamb and Yellow Rice with White Sauce. You could easily make two good sized meals out of a single order, that works out to $3 a meal; good luck beating that in the concrete jungle.

I'm not kidding you, this guy makes some stupid tasty food. No predictable Halal heartburn either. This is a home run, and depending on how my mets are playing may be the only homer going down in queens this week.

  3. Absolute favorite halal in New York City. That has to mean a lot right? I've had the halal guys in the city, random street carts all over, even the king of falafel truck on broadway doesn't compare for me. The flavor is just exactly what I want in my chicken, rice and white sauce. It's not a kick in the mouth of seasoning like some other places are, more like a HUG. I usually can stretch two meals out of one 6.00 serving. My go to is chicken with yellow rice- extra white sauce and a little bit of hot sauce. Best in town!!

  4. I don't want to compare this to any other halal cart because the way they prepare it is totally different. The rice has veggies in it which I could probably live without but it wasn't very flavorful either. Corn and olives in the salad huh? I guess there's a first time for everything but this was seriously a weird combo. The chicken was good and cooked well but also kind of bland. The salad was decent, nothing fancy.

I asked for a lot of white sauce and they obliged but I kind of wish I hadn't. The white sauce was not tangy at all. It kind of tastes like watered down dressing or mayo. They do give you a lot of food for the price but while it's filling it's not really outstanding.

The hot sauce was actually way better and it was tangy too but guess what it wasn't hot at all! I did taste some spices in it but no real heat. It's actually the first and only time I've ever said the hot sauce was better than the white sauce at any Halal spot ever.

Even if I'm in the area I don't think I'll be back. This place doesn't rate anywhere near close to some of my usual Halal carts. In conclusion, not terrible but not particularly flavorful but filling.
