Possibly a subsidiary of Halal Guys. The sauces are identical in taste AND containers.
These guys are on 52nd St and 6th Ave on the Sw Corner.
This is possibly the cart known as "Mr Shendys" and was bought out by the "Halal Guys" company so its supposed to be identical.
The thing that gives it away is the to-go white/hot sauce containers which are definitely the same.
They have large signs all over saying "We are the original" but their bags say the name "Halal for All"
I've tried all 3 of the clones – this cart, Halal Guys, and New York's best. Same deal as all the others- $6 for chicken/lamb, foil tin, comes with hot sauce and white sauce, yellow bag… you know how it works.
So here's how it compares:
– Portion – similar to NY's Best- they give you a lot but not packed to the brim like Halal guys. – Their hot sauce is very spicy but not as bad as Halal guys, you definitely cant pile it on. Tastes very similar – The white sauce tastes really good, not like the watered down ranch at Halal guys. – The pita was warm and soft which was completely different from the other locations. – Chicken was just average – tiny minced pieces so it looks almost pulled. Honestly all 3 places have chicken that isnt anything to write home about. – The lamb – minced just like Halal guys so it looks almost like taco meat. However, it had a LOT of flavor…. definitely noticeable compared to the other guys. – Hot sauce and white sauce served on top while ordering, plus you can get extra to-go containers like Halal guys – No line – everyone's fawning over Halal guys so these dudes don't seem busy and its a shame since they definitely serve a better meal.
All in all, I'd rank these guys very close to New Yorks best, with Halal Guys coming in a distant third place. I hope more people start to visit so the 53rd Halal Guys improves on their low quality food that gets so much attention.
OK so I have seen many reviews below stating these are the "Halal Guy's" and that they have been told so… "ITS ALL A LOAD OF CRAP" you guys were tricked into believing it.
They are nothing but yet another cart trying to bank of the success of "Halal Guy's". That being said I don't understand why. These guys are good enough on their own, Now I am an long standing loyalist of Halal Guy's but I do try other places especially the ripoffs, but these guys are so far best Halal Guy's ripoffs. I think they should try to set their own identity which will actually be a better path. If you are looking for simply Chicken or Gyro over rice look no further you will be satisfied, but if you came over for Halal Guy's please excuse this place.
