  1. I love Hale & Hearty and I think it's extremely underrated on Long Island thanks to all the Panera hype. Hale & Hearty is really popular in NYC so I am confused why it really hasn't made it's way to Long Island. Never the less, the Carl Place location is great after coming from the mall or the newly renovated movie theater. I brought my Dad and my girlfriend and they both seemed to love the freshness and quality of the food. The prices are great and you easily get more food than Panera for your dollar. The soup and salad combo is great and the portions are huge, especially the salads.

  2. What's a better snack than soup – warm and comfy.  The soups here – plenty to choose from are OK, but not great.  I've been here a few times, tasted or ordered several soups – they all kind of taste the same. They also offer salads and sandwiches and combinations of all three… I have only ever had soup. They're generous witn the crackers. The staff is always cheery – but I'd expect a soup place to have extraordinary soup, and they do not. If I had to pick a favorite soup – I would say the tomato basil bisque. H&H deserve 2 1/2 stars.

  3. In the mood for an evening snack something warm soothing and nice
Diane says lets go to Hale & Hearty
    the concept is great
    SOUPS
this is a order at the counter bring your soup to the table place
plenty of choices clearly marked Vegan Dairy
Staff gladly let us sample possible choices
    soups come in 3 sizes
I opted for a small tomato basil served in a crock
comes with bread or their "famous" soup crackers they are really oyster type crackers
they had no bread left so crackers it is
soup was ok not blow away
they also serve salads and assorted standard bottle and canned beverages
I love the concept just wish soup was a bit more savory

  4. While this location will never come close to the hustle-and-bustle locations I knew, love, and frequented in the city, I still love that there's a Hale & Hearty I can drive to in 20 minutes time.

My all-time favorite here is the three lentil chili. The sandwiches here are incredibly lackluster, and I've tried a few thus far. So, I'll stick with my hot bowl of chili.

Bonus: This location is HUGE — plenty of seating and parking, so no worries there.

  5. I really love Hale & Hearty, especially in the fall and winter of course.

The manager at this location Nelly is friendly and accommodating.

The only thing I would change is that maybe the individual locations could have Facebook pages letting you know which soups are available – since they change daily. I have several favorites, and still have not been able to have any one of them twice this season.

Other than that, this place is great.

  6. I came here with my hubby after working out and it was so good! We ordered customized salads and the chicken soup! So good and affordable if you dont add too much extra stuff to your salad. It is a great place for a healthy option. Only negative thing was the garbage was filled to the top.

  7. Love all their soup options!!

The lines are a little confusing if you've never been there before and people just walk past you as you're trying to figure it out so its kind of like someone from the staff should be on duty to direct people who look lost.

They do a pick 2 like Panera soup & salad or soup & sandwich or salad & sandwich. I didn't learn this until my 4th visit here. There's so much going on on the wall that the sign that states this gets lost. They deff need to rework this system.

They have a rewards app that's cool. Deff recommend it if you're going to be a soup guru. You get $2 for every person you recommend that uses the app and $10 for every hundred. Which trust me you will get to quickly because lunch here is starting $15.

You can build a salad but it gets too pricy.

If you're in the area and are looking for soup and salad go to Fairway. They're got good lunch at decent prices.

Id really only recommend this place for the soup. It's a higher end Panera.

  8. I started going to Hale & Hearty with my writing group back in the fall. We would bounce between 2 places. In need of some writing inspo, I set out to the other cafe only to learn it had closed down. I was bereft. Sad, but determined, I moseyed over to H&H because I needed a sandwich. I originally planned on doing a 1/2 sandwich and 1/2 soup combo, but the sriracha chicken panini called to me, and I ordered the whole damn thing.

I really like this sandwich, it's got the right amount of kick that satisfies, yet doesn't have me running constantly to the drink fountain. My only regret is not getting it toasted.

I learned that H&H no longer does it's points cards, and it's all on the app, which kinda made me sad, because I hate downloading apps that I'll only use once in a blue moon. The cashier was still able to apply my points to my order though, which was great because it took of like $2.

Another thing that gets me about H&H is the menu. Not what's on it, but how it's displayed. It's a tad confusing, especially when you want a panini because the panini's are not listed and you have to go up to the case.
