It's 4/20 and I was here with my wife, brother, sister-in-law, and twelve year old nephew (a kid in a bar? — oh no!). Let's get the elephant out of the way. I came here because this is the first Kosher bar in the metropolitan area. A Kosher bar?! So what? No, it's a big deal. It's important for a couple of guys to have a place to eat that doesn't look like they're on a date. This fills that void. Big screen tv's with hockey, baseball, and basketball. Dim lighting and comfortable seating. The atmosphere was festive. Even the hard working staff seemed jovial.
As for the food, we ordered honey barbecue wings ($8), #23 chili burgers with fries ($18), crispy and regular chicken sandwiches ($15 each), chicken tenders (~$10), and a kibbeh like food. The wings were the best I've EVER tried — crispy on the outside, tender on the inside, and bursting with flavor. Chicken sandwich was great. The chicken was cooked to perfection. Everyone tried the chilli burger and loved it. My wife raved about the chili. My nephew loved his chicken tenders and the three sauces it came with (they have about ten different sauces to choose from including bbq, honey bbq, ranch, and caesar).
The service here was also on par. The food came out quick, and the waiter brought out whatever extras we needed (i.e., extra sauces, napkins, etc.). Because it's a new establishment I will leave three recommendations: cole slaw (Pomegranate or Mountain Fruit style if possible), Jalepeno peas on each table for bar food, and background music that's not loud enough to drown out the sports. That's all. Everything else was perfection! See you next time.
