“I will most likely be eating a "Vegetarian Chicken Bahn Mi" with medium spicy.”
“I am quite surprised that they don't have pastries or the mung bean dessert that's carried in a few Vietnamese shops in Chinatown.”
“The combo of the pate and minced pork with the right amount of pickled veggies and a good helping of cilantro is fantastic.”

so, it was the first banh mi status post a trip to vietnam. expectations were high. i could still remember the taste of authentic cuisine. i ordered the shredded chicken and… well…they ended up with 3 stars. it was good. it was fine. it filled me. but… it wasn't like the banh mi hyunh hoa in saigon. it was also excessively stuffed which made it mighty messy to devour on the promenade. when i return (which i plan to do), i'll opt for the regular banh mi for a true head to head hancos versus saigon street pork/pate/miscellaneous meat banh mi.
Cheap, yummy and authentic bahn mi spot.
It's a small place, but they serve quite a variety of vietnamese food. It's not just for bahn mi's, they have pho and noodle dishes too – fast food style, but NOT fast food. They even have great bubble tea!
I highly recommend getting the pork bahn mi and make it spicy. It's not as spicy as you would expect so if you're up for a little kick, go for it. And don't forget to pair it up with a lychee bubble tea.
There's a lot of restaurants in the area, so it's a great to-go place for lunch. I've had my share of good sandwiches and I can say this bahn mi was definitely memorable. I would come all the way from Bayside if I was craving one. So take advantage if you live in the area. I mean, they deliver too…
Another great place to grab a nice sandwich, salad or soup. Everything has always been fresh and the service quick. Plenty of seats. Typical style Vietnamese sandwiches. I love the pork and chicken.
This is a neat little tri-level eatery that boasts a variety of sandwich options friendly to vegetarians. This was my first time trying a traditional bahn mi sandwich and I was impressed with the way the sandwich balanced the sweet-tangy flavor of the vegetables with the spicy sauce. We grabbed the Sriracha sauce preemptively, as neither my companion nor myself can enjoy something without a kick. Surprisingly, I didn't need it, although we did order our sandwiches to be spicy.
The least impressive part was the hoagie roll and the tofu and vegetarian chicken sandwiches were served warm, rather than hot. We also ordered bubble teas which were more expensive than I was used to, but I'm going to blame that on the overall price hikes in NYC rather than this individual venue. My hot thai tea was delicious although perhaps a bit too sweet (hence why it was delicious). The cold honeydew was refreshing and both came with a chock ton of tapioca bubbles.
The place operates semi-fast food style. You enter and place your order at the counter and then pick it up there (if all you're getting is bubble tea) or in the back. There is additional seating upstairs (with a skylight), and was not crowded on a Sunday evening.
I frequent this location most because, well because of it's location. The tea is alright, the service is okay(depends on the cashier that day)They play Korean music every time I go there. Today, they played on of my fav bands. Anyway, today I actually tried the food. I got the grilled chicken sandwich with honeydew boba tea. It was good. I didn't taste any mayo though and I don't like toasted, crusty…I mean crispy bread. The bread wasn't soft. Not bad though. I just wish they told me you pick up your food all the way in the back. Good thing the lady called out my order loudly. Otherwise, I wouldn't have known. Also, the pearls/boba was not really chewy, but hard today. meh
although the setting is a big awkward the food is yummy, love the ban mi vegan pork sandwich, has the right amount of everything and the vegan port pho is sooo delicious with that special kick of sriracha sauce.
Ok Viet food but a bit overpriced for what it is. I would only suggest getting the banh mi.
I was feeling sick and needed something hot. I just came to this place because it was the closest soup to where i live. The restaurant stinks a majority of the time. It would benefit if they do anything different with the dumped out soup remnants that greet you when walk in. However my soup was good. Chicken pho with pork… good cuts of pork. Would order to go next time.
