I feel as if this place is very underrated, it's been here for as long as I can remember. Whenever I would want to go for a warm noodle broth soup, I would always come to this place. Their noodles are very fresh and everything is quick, good pricing, and definitely one of the best hand pull noodle place I've been to. I see them making the noodles right on the spot and their beef is always so tender. Haven't tried their rice dishes, would definitely do so next time.
Cheap, good restaurant on the ever changing 18th Avenue. We had the sesame noodles with peanut sauce and pork and the hand pulled noodles with dumplings. The peanut sauce dish is worth the trip, and the other was good, and a good value.
Also worth the trip was the woman who came in speaking English, ordered in Mandarin and then took a phone call in fluent Spanish. Brooklyn.
The I love their beef pancake here and their hand pulled noodle soup here. I usually order the beef stew hand pulled noodle soup and it's great. The soup is very flavorful and the beef stew is very nicely marinated and soft. The dumplings here are also very good. The sauce is what really compliments the taste as well. The price here is also pretty nice since you can be full and satisfied with less than $10 dolllars. They also deliver pretty fast too.
As my friend would describe it, go to China and you'll find many more places like this. I guess thats how you know Hand Pull Noodle is authentic!
They don't have many vegetarian friendly options. Only pork available for dumplings.
Ordered the scallion pancakes and vegetable pan fried noodles with bean curd sauce.
The scallion pancakes were definitely lacking in flavor. It was more just fried dough, but how could anyone not like fried anything?
The vegetable pan fried noodles were delicious! Loved the flavor and the texture of the noodles.
Tip: add some hot sauce to get that extra kick!
Been here a few times..nothing too special but definitely affordable. There are many options to go with your hand pulled noodles like beef, tripe, pork, wontons. The menu says shrimp wontons but they certainly didn't have any last time I went. As already stated by many Yelpers, avoid the scallion pancakes. There was hardly any scallions in it. It was fried dough.
I always get take out from here when I'm at my in laws. Noodle soups are around $6 on average. I always get their pork chop and add an egg. It's always consistently good. The hand pulled noodles are QQ (chewy but in a good way), and the broth is savory and perfectly flavored. Nothing super unique about the place but it's always consistent. Delivery is quick as well.
The handpulled noodles here are fresh, bouncy and pulled on site! The soup is salty, flavorful goodness with pieces of beef and Chinese vegetables.
Always walked past this place so I finally decided to try it.
I got the hand pulled noodles with mixed beef and my boyfriend got the hand pulled noodles with beef stew. We also decided to try the scallion pancake with beef since it seemed to be a popular choice. I do love me some scallion pancake.
So the noodles were OK. Tasted like other hand pulled noodle places I've had in the 8th Avenue area. Not saying that the noodles aren't good or are bad, just that they're OK. Nothing that made me go, "Wow, I want to eat this again soon!" Portion sizes are generous. I ate my whole dish and half of the scallion pancake. SO STUFFED!
The scallion pancake was disappointing though. The scallion pancake itself was disappointing as a scallion pancake. Very doughy, not nearly enough scallions. Also, maybe I'm just weird, but the beef inside tasted like cha shu to me. I don't get why people like this so much. It was pretty bland on its own, and we dipped it in the vinegar they gave us (which I'm not sure if it was for the noodles or this).
Overall, not impressed. Might come back if I ever wanted hand pulled noodles specifically, but realistically, probably never going to step foot in this establishment again. Not that this place was bad, just not my cup of tea I guess.
