This restaurant used to be a korean bbq place, but they rebranded to serve hot pot. It's owned by the same person though so you can expect similar service if you've been here before.
As with any korean restaurant, you can't really expect waiters to come up to you and ask how you're doing. If you need something, just waive them down. But I can guarantee quick service and turnaround for the food and check.
I think hot pots are always good on cold and rainy days. The food is healthy and warms you up! The ingredients are definitely higher quality than other shabu chain stores. The meat doesn't come out frozen which is a HUGE thumbs up and the vegetables are crispy. I've encountered shabu places with discolored veggies, but none here! Even the seafood looked fresh! It smelled of the sea instead of stinky dirty ocean. Y'all know what I'm talking about…
They also have a sauce station so you can dip your meat/veggies in it. The broth is not the most flavorful so I usually add my sauce straight into my hot pot to season all of my veggies at once instead of constantly dipping.
If you have room leftover in your stomach, make sure you get a side of rice to make some porridge with your now flavorful and concentrated broth. The waitress will bring roasted seaweed and sesame oil to go with your porridge. Make sure you SAVE your egg til the end to crack it into your porridge if you're planning on mixing rice. I am telling you that this is the best part about hot pots.
