  1. I've eaten here once a long time ago and never tried it again. I walked by one day and decided to try it again. I ordered the food to go. I got a lunch special, three rolls for $8.00/$8.50. (Forgot, but it was reasonable, cheaper than if you were to get three rolls separately). I ordered two spicy salmon rolls and one spicy yellowtail roll. The lunch special comes with either a salad or soup, so I chose the salad (small piece of lettuce, thin strips of carrots, one cherry tomato and a small slice of cucumber). I also ordered the Kani salad. It was a rather quick wait. The Kani salad was not too good, compared to other places I've had Kani salads at. The one I got didn't have enough mayo, it was practically Kani and cucumber. I thought maybe the sauce was on the bottom but nope, I finished it and saw no trace of mayo anywhere.
The spicy salmon roll was ok (it's a roll I get all the time at any sushi place), not the best I've had. I did like that there were chewable pieces of salmon in the spicy salmon rolls, unlike some places where it gets so smashed up, you don't taste or eat any of the actual salmon. The spicy yellowtail roll, I don't remember anything about it.
The pieces were kind of small in size. They looked anorexic to me.

If I'm desperate and in a hurry for some sushi, I would prob order from there again. But at the same time I could get better for cheaper if not same price, even closer to where I live. I'll see if I want to try other things from this place, however I still give it a three stars because it was decent, not bad not horrible. *Please add some more mayo to the Kani salad!

  2. Honestly I love this place. Best sushi in the sheepshead Bay Area. The quality is always yummy and consistent. The special rolls are a must try especially the bagel roll, hiyashi roll, and lobster roll. The rock shrimp is my fav here. I will never stop coming here!

  3. Probably my favorite sushi joint in South Brooklyn. In all honesty, I wouldn't have gone here if one of my best girl friends hadn't had recommended it. The ambience isn't as aesthetically pleasing, but the food makes up for it.
I was introduced to the Rock Shrimp appetizer and since then, no Chikurin or Mitoushi has matched it. The Beef Nagamaki is also finger licking good. They have some awesome special rolls as well, loved the Magic Roll and Angry Lobster Roll! Another favorite of mine is their Ramune drink which is a strawberry flavored Japanese soda.
As far as service goes, I never had any complaints. I was always greeted and sat right away and the food always came out fast. Highly recommend.

  4. One of the best, local sushi in Sheepshead. The restaurant has a homey feel to it and the service is great. They have an amazing selection of special rolls and sushi bar appetizers. The spicy tuna wasabi crackers, rock shrimp tempura, and tuna seaweed crunch are definitely a must try!

  5. There are so many sushi restaurants in Brooklyn to choose from that it can actually be overwhelming.  Hayashi had some decent sushi rolls and a great tasting Hibachi section.  We will be ordering from them going forward via delivery and in house.

  6. Came here for dinner with a group of 6.

    Food:
    – Rock shrimp way too sweet. Seriously. Usually, rock shrimp is delicious, but this sauce was sugar overload. I couldn't eat more than one.
    – Sushi was ok. They have a good deal where you can get 3 maki rolls for $10. I got the veggie tempura sushi, which was really good), the avocado roll, which was a bit hard, and an eel avocado roll which was ok.
    – Got salad with the sushi, which was good.
    – Fried rice was good but tasted very egg-y, up to you to determine if you like that 🙂

    Service:
    – Friendly and attentive waitress

    Location:
    – Small but enough space inside
    – Clean
    – They have TVs showcasing the olympics 🙂

Not sure if I'd be back. Everyone in my party enjoyed their food, but it wasn't the best. That said, it also wasn't terrible, and the price is affordable.

  7. I'm pretty picky with sushi but this place definitely has my heart for a quick bite to eat.

It's located conveniently in Sheepshead Bay and delivers!

Everytime I've ordered by order has been correct (even for delivery!!!!), fresh, and tasty. I like that they also allow orders via the GrubHub app making it easy to get quick delivery on nights where I don't really feel like cooking or going out.

Definitely recommend for a quick, casual bite to eat.

  8. We once picked up from here and dined in today on mother's day. Both experience were quite satisfying. My brother usually gets irritated by the common smell of the sushi places, especially if you are sushi newbie like him, it bothers more. But this place should have a really good ventilation system that you do not feel it.

Since it is mother day, place has been decorated with balloons. We thought there was a party but there were not and we were lucky to get one of few available tables.

They offered green tea to start, then took our order. We got California, Boston, Chicken Tempura and Shrimp Tempura from the classics, and wanted to try a signature one, picked Green Lawn. 8 pieces were $15, we only managed to eat 5, it was not for our taste maybe so I only do not recommend that type, rest was good, especially the chicken tempura.

Fried ice-cream is a must, my favorite is red bean. That was nice too. $35 is a really good price for 2 people. Would recommend and come back.

Minimum for credit card is $10.
