  1. Hells Kitchen is a fun neighborhood bar. I would recommend this restaurant for Saturday or Sunday brunch, and daily evening drinks. They have a full bar and a nice selection of beers on tap. The ambiance has a edgy and a rock n roll like atmosphere. The food is pretty good! I strongly recommend the buffalo wings even though they only come in a quantity of 6. Everyday is a theme day which is pretty cool. Metal Monday's, Taco Tuesday's, Whisky Wednesday's  etc. So that means there's usually a show of some kind of food or drink special. The bartenders are always friendly and aware of what is going on so you rarely have to ask if you can have another drink. Good food, good service and walking distance to the Prudential and the NJ transit.

  2. There isn't much for me to say. I'm pretty much going to piggy back on what other Yelpers have said already and shower Hell's Kitchen Lounge with many compliments and accolades. This is one kick-ass spot in the Ironbound! The drinks and food are great, as well as the entertainment. Plus, the music is really good. The weekend brunch is a deal and delicious. I mean, $3 bloody maries and mimosas? Count me in!

    Here are dishes that I've ordered at HKL and would definitely recommend:
    * French toast
    * Tortilla Española (the best I've had)
    * Nature Burger (veggie burger)
    * Eggs Florentine
    * Warm donuts with raspberry filling (it's bring-on-the-diabetes irresistible)
    * Mac 'n cheese (it's serious)
    * Pasta with Bolognese sauce (very good, comes with little garlic bread slices)
    * Falafel sandwich

    They make a spicy Bloody Mary here, which is one of my favorites. The drinks are fairly priced. The beer (on tap and rotating guest beers) are good, too. I haven't tried a cocktail or their other drinks, but I saw their drinks menu and it's pretty extensive. So if you like mixed drinks or harder liquor, they should have it here.

    Oh, and if you are in the area around lunch time, I recommend doing their $7 lunch deal. If I worked close to there, this would be definitely my regular lunch spot.

    Yeah, there's not much else to say. Go here. Hell's Kitchen Lounge is awesome!

  3. Low key bar no complaints. The crowd is a little on the "wierd" side but are cool. Has like a goth feel to it but I believe thats the vibe they are going for.

  4. This will be a short review, because I came here on the night of the Rush concert at the Prudential Center.

    This place has something definitely going for it. The places transcends sexy.

    The service was really good even though it was packed!

    I will come back here with the girlfriend and order more than the pierogies. By the way, the pierogies were very delicious.

  5. Went to this place for a friend's fiction reading. It has an interesting atmosphere: feels like a hipster bar, but there's metal music playing in the background. The sign outside boasted that tonight was "metal Monday"–after the poetry/fiction reading, of course.

    I ordered a couple of New York State beers, which were very reasonably priced, and the chicken burger, which was good. Their seasoned fries were also good. Pretty average bar food, nothing to special to speak of, but I'd go back and order food/drinks again if I had a reason to be there.

  6. Annoyingly all street parking (but I think that's the norm for Newark). Went inside and was happy to see they had football on, woot! (especially cause I wasn't a fan of the idea of watching soft porn with everyone else, I like to do that in the privacy of my HOME.) Interesting dark decor.

    The waitress was new so she kept telling us the kitchen was closed though I swore I saw online that the kitchen was open later. Eventually that did get sorted out and we were able to order some food.

    The hummus platter was alright (sort of what you get out of a pre-made packaged hummus it tasted like – not homemade). The mac and cheese was alright, not great. My friend actually had to return it to the kitchen she disliked it so much. They were polite enough to sub the mac & cheese with a second hummus platter for her, which I really appreciate in a business.

    The burlesque show was decent. No dance floor really. Someone walked around before the burlesque show and turned off most of the televisions so I had to go to the main bar to see my football game, which was a little annoying.

    Had this one drink (Seven Minutes in Heaven: Bacardi Light Rum, Bacardi Coconut, Passion Fruit, and Cranberry Juice. Served with a cherry) that was absolutely delicious. Had about 5 of those in one night! Definitely the high point of my visit!

  7. I think all of the good reviews are probably for the bar/lounge and not food. But that's my fault for not reading thoroughly. My boyfriend and I came in on a Sunday at around 1, when our first choice, a diner nearby, had a 50 minute wait. So we decided to give Hell's Kitchen Lounge a shot.

    The first bad sign was when I called and asked how long the wait would be, and they said no wait. During prime brunch hours.

    The second bad sign was when we walked in and there were 3 tables dining and a few people sitting at the bar. Everyone around us seemed to be doing their boozy brunch option.

    The third bad sign was the smell. The entire place smelled like a bathroom (although ironically, their bathrooms were really clean and pretty new). But the place itself was super divey. Also, it was in a basement. A little sketch in my opinion. But we were getting hangry so we decided to just go with it.

    I ordered the tosta mista, which is a pressed ham and cheese panini. It came with some kind of weird tasting cheese on top, which I wasn't a fan of. The best part was probably the huge salad it came with. My boyfriend ordered the eggs benedict, which was less than memorable. It didn't even look too appetizing.

    I'm pretty sure I wouldn't be in this area at nighttime, so I can't say I would come back. But it does seem like an okay spot for drinks. And by drinks, I mean probably whatever beer they have on tap because he also ordered a bloody mary and it was just not good.

  8. I love the atomosphere here, if you love…devils…pinup girls…darkness..art and just a chill spot to come to..this is it. They always have events happening on the weekends..usually Burlesque shows. You will be sure to see at least one girl dancing on one of the poles. This place always has a big amount of people here—along with a dj. In the past ive even been lucky enough to come to an art show here. The waitors are nice and if you sit at a little table on the side or in the main room they will actually serve you.

    The downfall is the space, since it does tend to get packed..its hard to walk around and even grab a seat. However, Ive noticed they have food and i really gotta try the food.
