I wandered over to hipster land with my boo a few weeks ago at the Brooklyn Flea and wandered over to a table that had a nice lil line going.
We ordered a meat platter (Sausage + Brisket). The brisket here was quite tasty. It was oh so moist and melted in your mouth (twss). It had a nice char on the edge- it's what BBQ connoisseurs call the smoke ring. It reminded me of some good ol TX BBQ in the hill country back where I'm from.
I talked with the folks working there, and they're just a bunch of TX transplants like myself- friends who just love some good meat and are doing it as a labor of love.*
If you hung around the flea you might have heard comments such as these: My goodness, that's some big meat.* OMG, this meat tastes sooo good. * Man, this meat is so filling.* Can I have some of that sausage?* Man that sausage is too big, I can't handle it.* This sausage really hits the spot.*
Okay, I thought it was a bit pricey, but then again everything in NY is pricier than down south. I'm glad I was able to show my boo what the TX meat is all about. Paying an extra buck or 2 up here saves you the hundreds of dollars you would have spent on a ticket to TX.
