  1. This is by far the best Mexican food I have ever had in a long time. Get the special meal deal because then you get everything that you see in my photos. Everything was so tasty. Their pork is off the hook. I just wish that we would have ordered their guacamole.

The next time I get food from them I am going to order like 5 different dishes. I really was delighted to finally have some good Mexican food. Their torta is literally the best in Queens. Why have I not ordered from them before. Seriously, try them out ASAP

  2. Okay so listen up people!  You have to get your butts here asap!  Get ready to devour whatever you order and lick your fingers simultaneously!

Gutiérrez: Grilled steak, grilled onions crisp lettuce and guacamole sauce. (Toppings not included) – melts in your mouth, not in your hands.  Succulent, moist and juicy (drooling).  Had one, wanted another right after!  Boo-yah!

    Tacos:
    1. Steak & Onions: grilled chopped tender steak and onions.
    2. Grilled Fish: grilled tilapia served on soft corn tortilla and topped with pico de gallo and chipotle sauce
    3. Grilled Shrimp: marinated grilled shrimp served on soft corn tortilla and topped with pico de gallo and chipotle sauce.

Whatever floats your boat, can't knock it…just don't harm any shrimp in the process, leave that to me…they are my friends and owe me 😉

    Service: helpful & friendly
Environment: no frills, totally cas.; can eat in or take-out

Yessssss yesssss on my god yesssss!  All of it, all day, er'day 🙂

  3. Found this spot on Yelp looking for a decent Mexican place to eat at. My friend and I were specifically looking for Burritos. Well we both got burritos and shared a large order of chips and guacamole. My friend got a bottle of coke classic (mexican? with cane sugar) and I got a small horchata.

I got the chicken burrito and it was delicious and well priced. My friend enjoyed his chicken and steak burrito. I prefer this burrito to something at Chipotle, more authentic, simple and thoroughly enjoyable.

The guacamole is on point very flavorful and a good size for the price. The chips are freshly made, I would prefer they were unsalted, or had less salt, especially since the guacamole is so tasty.

The horchata was refreshing especially after the hot salsa/sauce from the salsa bar. Woof my butt burned afterwards, Estoy muy sensitivo – I guess lol. The horchata helped cool my mouth down. It is a bit sweet, but damn tasty.

I would definitely roll back in here when in the neighborhood. ciao!

  4. I was looking forward to really falling in love here… unfortunately, the meal fell short of my expectations. I stopped by to dine in for lunch. Ordered 3 tacos for about $2.50-2.75 each (spicy pork, al pastor, longaniza) and an horchata for $3. They take credit card for orders over $10, so that's a plus. I got my horchata first as I waited for the tacos, and I think it was the first sign that the meal wasn't going to be up to par with my hopes. The horchata was bland and watered down.

When the tacos came out, they come without toppings and there's a toppings and salsa station, which is nice because you can customize your taco to your liking. I added some onion-forward pico de gallo, guacamole sauce, salsa roja, cilantro and squeezed some limes over all of it. I'll admit, it looked delicious. When I start chomping in, first thing I noticed was that the tortillas were really good. They're handmade and fresh and it was exactly what they tasted like! Tacos were double-tortilla, so even better. For the meats itself… it wasn't very good. The pork was gristly and most of the meat was chewy pieces of fat–and this was true for both the spicy pork and the al pastor. The pork itself wasn't well marinated and it was lacking that charred meat texture and flavor. Onto the longaniza–I was expecting a lot more flavor there too! I do think it was cooked well, but overall the sausage wasn't very flavorful.

Everyone was nice and attentive to the customers as well as the space–cleaning up the tables and re-filling the salsa station–but the food just did not live up to the Mexican food I'm use to.

  5. Homemade Taqueria is my favorite taco spot in Astoria.  The food is simple, flavorful, and satisfies my taco cravings week after week.  I especially love the smoked pork tacos, chicken tacos, and spicy pork tacos.  The creamy guacamole sauce is to die for!

My only complaint is that they're somewhat inconsistent.  Unfortunately, last week I found a 4 inch piece of bone in my chicken taco.  On numerous occasions they've given me the wrong sauce on the side or left out requested add-ons.  None of these occurrences have prevented me from returning though.  The food truly is that good.

  6. This place is usually very consistent in taste. I live right near, so it's always been our spot when ordering tacos for takeout.

    Pros:
    – Delivery is always quick. When you place an order through GrubHub and it says 45 minutes, you better believe it'll probably be 20-25 AT MOST (A+ for timeliness)
    – Consistently good tacos and enchiladas, regardless of the protein you choose
    – Tacos are on the smaller side, so you can easily experiment with different kinds (and not too pricey)

    A few cons:
    – One week they might give you 6 containers of sauce for 6 tacos, but the next they may only give you 2 for 6 tacos
    – Bone was found once in a taco

Let's just say, when I move out of Astoria, I'll miss this place.

  7. I'm glad I listen to the reviews & check out this place.

I went with my boyfriend & I got 3 types of tacos. The steak, fish & longanisa tacos. I ask the waitress if she can add avocados in my taco & she suggested to get the side order of avocado. Its $2 and much more cheaper than adding in each tacos. Shes really nice. Very friendly & attentive. My food taste delicious! I enjoyed everything that I had. My bf got the combo # 2, taco, tostada & quesadilla. He loves it! Delicious & crispy. For drinks I got the horchata & he got the water melon agua. My horchata taste different from any other place but it taste good & refreshing!

They have a section where you can get your own condiments that you need which is great! They have beans, lime, onion & salsa.

    clean place, affordable & delicious!

  8. This place is alright–

    Just regarding delivery:
-took a bit long and food arrived cold
-ordered a portobello and zucchini burrito that came sans portobello

On the plus side, low delivery minimum and food is cheap. I'd give it a try again, just know what to expect a bit better.

*side note, my bf orders from here often and loves it
