Chinese speaking waitstaff with broken to halfway-decent English, cash only and most (if not all) of the people eating there are Chinese?  You know this place is good!

Prices are reasonable for the portions they give.  The only disappointing part of our meal was the duck.  There's much better out there but for the price it was OK.

Protip: you can park at the Flushing mall (with the Target, Nordstrom Rack, etc.) And just walk over. $3 for up to 3 hrs of parking!

My parents are fair judges of Sichuan food (half of my family is from Sichuan) and they love this place. The last time we came here we ordered a hot pot. Half of the pot was super spicy and the other half was mild. I recommend the super spicy hot pot ONLY if you can handle very spicy foods. If you can the spicy soup really delivers and is full of flavor (the best I have ever had in NYC), but I had to throw the leftovers out because I couldn't sleep that night from all the spice upsetting my poor stomach! We had even asked for the mild version too! If they could dial down the spice a bit, it would make this dish absolutely perfect.

The mild soup is delicious too with lovely subtle flavors. I can't identify any of the spices but we all loved it. It's wonderful on a cold day to come in to a big pot of boiling hot soup with twenty different fresh ingredients to cook (I like to ask for extra veggies!)

The decor is nothing to write home about, and once again, if you're visiting or live in Flushing you ought to know that Chinese people don't care about decor, we only care about how good the food tastes. And this place will not disappoint.

Hot pot is literally SLOW FOOD. You are forced to wait as your food cooks, so you pace yourself while eating and give your stomach time to digest (this is good for your stomach and your health). You share the food with friends and family, which brings everyone closer together, and you warm up from the cold outside. It's a wonderful way to spend time with family and friends.

I think the previous reviewer that gave this place 1 star probably owns or works for a competing establishment (wink). In no way whatsoever does this restaurant deserve anything less than 5 stars. It's the best Sichuan in all of New York!

Delicious, fresh , spicy, and authentic. Very reasonable prices. My doctor recommended this place and it didn't disappoint!

Nine of us shared a family style dinner at Hot Kitchen Sichuan Style. I love the fact that these dinners give us a chance sample a good proportion of the restaurant's menu, so you feel you have a good sense of the restaurants abilities. Generally speaking, the food was well prepared. My favorite dish was the Double Cooked Pork Belly with Chili Leeks, least favorite was the rabbit We ordered the food spicy, which we presumed, in a Sichuan restaurant, would provide adequate heat. The spice level imparted a nice warm glow, with moderate numbing from the Sichuan peppercorns. Pepper heads might want to ask them to amp up the spice level. The Spicy Mung Bean Jello Salad was an effective palate cleanser. The Lamb with Cumin Sauce and the Spicy Chicken Sichuan Style were runner up favorites. I would definitely return. Prices were quite reasonable. We ordered:
    Sichuan Pickled Cabbage
Double Cooked Pork Belly with Chili Leeks
    Watercress
    Spicy Chicken Sichuan Style
Braised Tender Beef with Veggie and Roasted Chili
Hot Pepper Veggie with Roast Lotus Root
    Lamb with Cumin Sauce
    Spicy Mung Bean Jello Salad
    Rabbit Red Plate

Great place!!!! 很好吃!!非常好吃! The food was amazing.. Very authentic and seasoned. They didn't have much selections for alcoholic beverages (which was a disappointment), but their food made up for it all.

    They are very stingy.
I ordered a take out for two cold dishes. The portion were only half of the container size. I could not find a whole piece of chicken because they gave me all the bones and look like the leftover from the previous guest! What is more, the waitress shamelessly told me they freshly cut the chicken!

This is the last time I would visit this restaurant. I would give a minus one star.

Hot Kitchen is located on Roosevelt Avenue where Little Pepper Hot Pot was situated….above where Little Pepper used to be down stairs. This place is the bomb! Clean, hospitable(family operated) with a vast menu. After trying literally all the various ethniticities of Chinese cuisine in Flushing we found this place to be the best. For Appys we had:
*Sliced Pork Belly in chili Garlic Sauce- perfect consistancy of pork belly with outstanding hot red chili sauce. Mmmmm !
    * Sichuan Wontron with Red Hot Chili Oil – Tender Wonton in super red hot sauce. So good we dipped other items in it for heat.

    On to the mains:
    * Chef's Mapo Tofu – Best we ever had…Tofu just firm enough to pik up with sticks and the sauce was hot with meat which added consistancy and taste. Was super for lunch the next day.,..hot and tasty
    * Chongqing Spicy Chicken – Outstanding….hot crisp morsals of chicken mixed in with a copious quantity of red chili peppers…loved that dish!
    * Double cooked Pork Belly with Chili Leeks- Taste was spot on and Leeks were tender and tasty.

All this plus a soda and Tsing Tao Beer for a whopping $41 total!! Woo Hoo…good as it gets…albeit its CASH ONLY..but for these prices you cant go wrong. This is our new go to place for food that is not only Mala but tasty……

It's an authentic Sichuan restaurant in flushing!
Always go for the hotpot but the other dishes look tasty too!
The soup is so spicy that you have to drink water on every bite. But it's a really traditional taste of Sichuan spicy hotpot. Your tongue will feel numb too. Their food is tasty and fresh.
The lady and another guy are good in service.
We ate so much and we can't finish the rest of it.
Five of us paid 16 included the tips. It's a really good price!
I will definitely want to come back again!
