  1. I'd waited to try out this place because every other hotpot restaurants on the same street offer very similar experiences, what's unique here was that they do a traditional HK style spicy chicken pot prior to hotpot, I actually never had hotpot this way so it was pretty cool.

As a soup base but also a dish, the chicken pot was so yummy, it's stir-fried and made into a casserole, slightly numbing and spicy, every piece of chicken was marinated well, the flavors were very intense, it's a greater starter.

We were more than half way through the chicken, one of the servers came to pour chicken broth in the sand pot to create the hotpot soup base, to my surprise the flavors stayed very well. We ordered our usual fatty beef platter, some veggies, cold tofu, mushrooms, seafood and etc. The presentation of the dishes were nice, ingredients were fresh, you don't really need to dip the food into a self-made sauce because everything absorbed the chicken pot base, it smelled great!

I don't think they carry a liquor license so you might want to bring your own, but they provide these cool traditional bowls for beer, I think that's cool. The interior is very minimalistic, not too much going on, the music was fine, the servers were very polite. It's only their first week in business but no mess no fuzz.

I look forward to bringing friends.

  2. This place is not bad for the price, it is slightly more affordable compared to mister hotpot with the soup base starting at $30 which is a 2 way dish. I got the spicy chicken pot and after you are done eating the chicken you use it as a soup base. I liked that it was a little different compared to other hot pot places and they have this cute theme where some of the drinks come in little light bulbs. They have a variety of selections and they have my favorite tofu skin rolls that a lot of other places don't have. The service was decent and I liked that the wait was not too long.

The highlight was probably the wagyu beef with gold flakes it was nicely presented and the texture was a lot better than that of regular fat beef. (It's a splurge  $40) I wouldn't get it again cause it's way too expensive but I'm glad I got to try it.

As a lot of others have mentioned compared to mister hotpot I still like mister hotpot better.

  3. So I came to try the hotpot at this new spot and I was not really impressed. I didn't get much of a greeting when I walked in. I felt uncomfortableness to be seated. I ordered the spicy chicken pot as I knew from what I read on Yelp it would not cause problems. The chicken they brought out was a lot bones, and little meat. It was not easy to eat nor very meaty. It was a huge chore picking out bad pieces of chicken to try and eat. The service was sad. I had to ask for napkins, water, refills to the hotpot, and had to send stuff away repeatedly. After awhile I gave up.  I didn't even try to get their attention anymore because we are ignored all evening. After writing this review and remembering my experience I would not give this place more than one star and would definitely not recommend this place to anyone else. Sorry it's just not outsider friendly.

  4. For the area this place is expensive, for the area this place is also probably the best hot pot spot. The ingredients are what you would say you get what you pay for. The flavors are robust and the ingredients is fresh. All the ingredients are al la carte which can get up there and beer is 20 dollars a pitcher. The service is standard to good for an Asian restaurant and they only take cash. I would definitely come back if I want to go for good hot pot. This place also gets packed, so I would recommend calling to make a reservation.

  5. I just love it when I come across pictures of food posted by fellow Yelpers. What makes it even more exciting is that it's labeled as a "Hot New Business". Next thing you know, I'm sitting down at this place hours after I bookmarked it.

I get all sad when I watch Asian food travel shows. I see all these trendy eats, and this Spicy Chicken Casserole happens to be one of them. Because it only comes in spicy, and the other casseroles needs to be preordered a day in advance, my husband and I were all out of options since we had the kids with us. I was totally bummed until our server went out of her way and asked the kitchen to cook our hot pot items separately in their pork bone soup if we really ordered the spicy casserole. Service was fantastic, it was a great experience.

Let's get back to the casserole. Not only is it an entree, but it turns into hot pot once you finish the chicken, I mean how cool is that? Hot broth is added to deglaze whatever is leftover in the casserole, transforming into a chicken soup based hot pot. Amazingly delicious, genius.

The raw food for hot pot is fresh, and beautifully plated. The sauce is mixed at the table, with a big platter of various condiments, which gets taken away when your pot comes. We didn't use any at all in the end. The soup was so jam packed with flavor that the unseasoned cooked food came out seasoned.

I highly recommend checking this spot out. I'm definitely coming back. Bringing my family, friends, and everyone else. I don't care, I'm self inviting to your dinner, too.

  6. Came here with a good friend today around 5pm. Only 2 tables in but that was good. We had great service and food showed up quickly as I was getting hungry after work. Time to indulge in that spicy chicken casserole pot! There a lot of red pepper in there but it was over powering spicy, but it does make your lips burn lol. In a good way. After eating half way Into the chicken pot, we decided to do hotpot so they added some water into our Chicken pot and became hot pot. Like 2 in 1!!  Interested in come back and try their other foods next time!!
