Houlihan’s
“Every time I dine here I always sit in the self seating bar area and mostly get the same waiter, service is just awesome and always a pleasure.”
“I hate the crowded bar/awkward club scene at the one in Paramus and various other Houlihans nearby.”
“I love their Cactus Bowl and Blueberry Crush!”

went here couple times for lunch break.
They have lunch specials till 3:00.
What i liked:
– the pot roast – nice and tender 🙂
– they have a full bar –
– fast service and staff
What is not that nice:
– to much salt in the fooooood
Maybe I chose the saltiest courses in the menu? 🙂 I'll give it another try
I dont love reviewing chain places but i do love houlihans.
This houlihans is at par with the rest. The bartenders are friendly and the staff is efficient.
If you have never been to a houlihans id tell you to order the baked potato soup because thats the only proof we have that god loves us and wants us to be happy.
Not a big fan of any Houlihans food. But it's the best one around.
Quick review- party of 10. Ordered two apps, two soups, sliders n a bunch of desserts. 1hour and 15 minutes later still no food. Waiter never even came back to ask for refills until I grabbed him. Food arrived warm at best.
At least they comped us two desserts at the end.
If you like Houlihans, then you'll be fine….
Have Fun
Went to Houlihan's as it is one of my Grandma's favorite restaurants and she and my aunt are regulars. I will say that the customer service was exceptional. My grandma couldn't walk far and our request for a table close by was met with no complaints. Our server was very friendly and helpful. I had the heartland chicken salad. It was good, but nothing special. Everyone else that I was dining with was happy with their selections. I would go back.
Houlihan's is a great place after a busy day at work. I love their Cactus Bowl and Blueberry Crush! I usually sit at the bar, and I never had any bad experiences with service. The food comes out looking good (tastes even better). No complaints at all.
The quality in food isn't as good as it used to be. I used to droll over there macaroni & cheese, now its oily & very heavy for $7 its not worth it! Calamari is a bit chewy and service is lacking. I have to say though the cactus bowl drinks for $10 are GREAT!!
Went out to dinner with 5 family members. My mother-in-law chose this restaurant and since she was treating, we were all in! It was a quiet Monday evening and we were quickly seated in a booth near the door to accommodate our needs. We had an infant with us, no problem! There were other parties with children. Four had the potato soup since they had enjoyed it before and were not disappointed this time either. My daughter and I had salads for dinner. She had the Heartland Chicken Salad which she said was good. I chose the Pecan Chicken on the recommendation of my sister-in-law. Both were large and delicious. The others had sandwiches which they liked. My brother-in-law had a Sirloin Steak, he ate it all. Overall, it was a pleasant dining experience and I see no reason not to go back.
Ok, I have been to this place 2 times. the first was in winter after a flight back from LA. The most recent was in the fall and it was a crazy experience. we spent over $1000 in this place. I would give this a 5 star review but…. hear the whole story.
The manager was great here we pulled up and he had a waitress sit us. The waitress was nice, In her late 30s. she took our drink order. then came back and took another drink order. Came back and took more drink orders. I could tell that she was getting a bit annoyed. We did sit down for dinner and diden't go to the bar. but everyone wanted to have a good time and drink the night away. finally after about 7 rounds for the group she took our order for apps. We had mozz sticks and everything else. then another round of drinks. she took our food order. I got a bacon burger. I cant speak for the other people at my table because to be honest i forgot to ask them how there food was and i had one to many in me too remember to take pictures of the food.
My bacon burger was really good cooked just how i like it. I got a feeling that everyone liked there food. After eating everyone seemed like they wanted more drinks. The poor waitress came back with the check and everyone started ordering more drinks. so i think she got a bit annoyed that the group ordered more drinks. The manager was cool with us there. he had put us in more of a private area. Which was nice of him.
The waitress came back with with drinks after dinner. I did not have anything after dinner but hot tea. The crew had 2 more rounds and then the check was served and everything was fine from there. I would recommend this place if you are on 17 and passing through. If im on 17 I will stop back here. There is another houlihans on the way to the newark airport. I have not been there yet but it is close to hoooters. I pass that location quite frequently. I prob will stop there. Cool place.
PROS:
-Off of 17 great location
-manager was nice
-Good parking
CONS:
– Spent over $1000 here and waitress was annoyed that she had tokeep getting our drinks. Not a deal breaker but it is a good tip.
