  1. We came here on a busy Saturday night. Waited about 30min for a table. Then we had to request for water which didn't come for another 10min. Our order wasn't taken until about 20min after being seated. Food came out at a decent time after placing the order. Service was SEVERELY lacking. Our waitress didn't know right from left and she was so forgetful. I think she should have done herself a favor and used a notepad to write down our orders. I think the cooks in the back were sleeping. My turkey burger (which tasted like shit) didn't have any sauce on it. My frozen burgers from Costco are 1000x better than whatever BS patty they had on deck. The two tables around us were complaining about their service. One table complained to the waitress about the wait for their food and the other was complaining about the attitude of the manager. Can't make this stuff up. With the hostility built up around us, these stupid kids throwing napkins up the wall, blah food and a dumb server, it was not the most pleasant dining experience. Definitely not coming back. I'll just walk myself over to the sushi place across the plaza.

  2. Short on time?
Looking for quick brew? Dope wings? Lovely sliders?
Look no further and rush to the Bar for their Happy Hour specials!

On Tuesday nights, the Bar at Houlihans is our go to spot. It works perfectly since its right next to Kerasotes Theaters and sometimes I'm feeling dope quick bites instead of popcorn only!

    The Highlights:
    – Thai wings
    – Sliders
    – Blue moon
    – Late night and decent parking

The wings are to die for! They have a banging flavor and its not spicy in a heat aspect. The sliders are cool and an order comes with 3, so if hungry 2 orders will fit the bill. They have 5-8 brews on tap (lost count), but all I know is they have my blue moon and its always cold and topped with my orange slice!

The staff at the bar is pretty cool and helpful. The drinks are measured so if you're looking for that special extra kick, then maybe pass on the Long island iced tea. Keep up the good work bartenders and keep the #ThaiWings rocking! Enjoy y'all!

  3. Stopped in to grab something quick to eat before a movie and the food was good.

We sat at the bar since the place was crowded on a Tuesday. The location was perfect to get something to eat at since it was close to Kerasotes.

I loved the Thai wings appetizer!!!!! They were cripsy and flavorful and not hot at all. The sliders were simple and good as well. We ordered two orders of wings because they were so good. I tried the loaded potato wedges as well and they were so so..they were lacking some seasoning.

The drinks are not very strong so if you looking for a little extra pep in your step this placed is not it. The staff is friendly and cool.

    I would come back again.

  4. Houlihan's is one of the better dining options at The Plaza at Harmon Meadow. My coworkers and I had spent the afternoon setting up our booth at the Meadowlands Exposition Center (next door) and wanted a nearby spot where we could watch the game and have a few beers. I had no interest in the football game, but I agreed to tag along if wings were involved. Since Houlihan's was walking distance from our hotel we picked this spot to watch the game at the bar.

We ordered the Sesame Ginger Wings, Buffalo Wings and the Chicken Avocado Egg Rolls. The wings were really good, but the egg rolls were a little too greasy. After one bite I put them down because I knew they would turn into instant regret in my stomach.

Service was friendly and attentive so I would definitely return to Houlihan's for beer and wings next time we attend a food show in Secaucus.

  5. Fun Fact: My parents met at this Houlihan's and have been married for 30 years.

I can't remember ever being here though. It just so happens that my dad's wedding ring had to be cut off recently haha. He never took it off and grew out of it. So we were at the Harmon Meadow Jewelry Exchange picking out a new one. Afterwards, we walked on over to this Houlihan's.

The place is pretty big and I love the stained glass and how it's decorated for Christmas. We had a seat by the window. My dad ordered a Manhattan and I ordered a Samuel Smith Nut Brown Ale, but we didn't see them for quite some time. We were starvvvingg. When our waitress came back over with our drinks, we ordered. We decided to skip appetizers. I was hesitant to order the scallops and asparagus risotto and thought doing a burger or something would be safer, but I went for the scallops anyway. My dad got the salmon that the waitress recommended. I was SO impressed!! Seriously. I woulda said that this was a 5 star Houlihan's or restaurant in this general category of chains if the service had been quicker.

I ordered a large entree thinking I'd be able to save half for lunch the next day, but ended up eating the whole thing. Then my dad and I shared the Kamikaze brownie and really enjoyed it. There was something weird about the cappuccino. It was too sweet for some reason, like they put sugar or a flavored syrup in it or something. I didn't finish it. It wasn't terrible, but it wasn't a real cappuccino either.

This place is so close to me, I'll def. be back!

  6. I just moved back to the NJ area
And have since in the last month or so become a permanent fixture here

I normally sit at the bar, great Moscow Mules, wish they carried Prosecco, they carry Mini Brut.

Thier crazy drinks are insanely sweet to me, so I normally order the same stuff
The scallop dish risotto is wonderful, even comes in small portion which is what I value most. And thier Shrooms are a staple.
I meet many tourists and businessmen at the bar and I recommend the shrooms.
    They simply cannot be recreated!

They offer IBC for my child, and he loves a fried Brentwood, which is offered grilled.

The Tuscany Lemon chicken is great, as are the ribs and Jambalaya.

The Cappuccino cake is my Favorite dessert, haven't tried anything but- goes great with my cappuccino with Frangelico

Bartenders and servers are very very nice. Friendly and they work fast.
I've lived here since Jan 5th and been here even this afternoon before a movie about 18 times.

I have had no complaints so far.
    Just wish they offered Prosecco.
A nice champagne would be nice.

I can honestly say that the menu is better than it was 20 yrs ago.

The restaurant seems to have the place under control- not as chaotic and cramped as the one in Weehawken

My husband works for UBS and says he prefers the Secaucus. We live in Nutley.
Not a bad drive, but out of all the restaurants in that plaza- I always end up at Houlihans.
That Cheeseburger Paradise is too crazy with the charoake.
Haven't given anything else a chance, cause the menu at Houlihans is like 14 pages.

    So yes, I definitely recommend
Even though this was my very first waitressing job in 1995.
I only lasted like 2-3 months- I got fired, it's pretty easy to get fired from there.
    So I usually over tip.
    No hard feelings.
    I moved on.

    Now they serve ME!

  7. I have to say, I am very impressed. Place is setup really cool and has an outdoor section which is nice in this weather that we've been having.

Service was really fast, food came really fast, came to check up on us multiple times. Just good service.

I had the buffalo blue salad with French onion soup. The soup was great, little hard to eat the cheese but overall really tasty. The buffalo blue salad was even better, the chicken was so good and went well with everything else on the plate. The salad came with bread which I thought was weird cause there was no butter or any sauce to use with it but I tried it anyway. It was really doughy and had some kind of seasoning on the top. It was really really good and you don't need butter or anything with it. Ending up eating the whole piece.

Only thing that could be improved is the beer, the craft beer section is a little weak, only really have Sam Adams which is not that crafty if you ask me

  8. This is a pretty good spot for some food, beer, and sports. Plenty of tv's around in the bar area and it's a fun atmosphere. I ordered a salad and wrap combo, pretty standard. My coworker ordered a crispy chicken salad, huge portion, good fried chicken. Not the best food but pretty decent for bar food. Good location.
