  1. A nice lunch spot after bouldering in the morning. The decor here is quite upscale and a bit hipster. I really liked the big panel of windows that lets in a lot light and makes the place feel very lively! We ordered three entrees for sharing: the dancing dragon, green curry and grilled shrimp. My personal favorite is the dancing dragon, featuring Thai-style sautéed ground pork and charred veggie. The flavor is very well balanced, not overpowering but has the right amount of kicks – you know, the type of Thai food that caters to a broader range of palates but also preserves a lot of authenticity. This was perfect for our liking. Finally for desserts, we had the mango with sticky rice, which was a fantastic finisher, highly recommend this one – especially loved the sticky rice that had a hint of coconut. i can totally see this becoming a regular spot whenever i'm in the area.

  2. I have had such a long, hard week, driving hither and yon across New Jersey and taking difficult meetings, so when I alighted in LIC for a brief stopover before my next slate of meetings in NYC, I was feeling done with everything and a bit hangry having missed lunch due to a meeting that ran over.

I love Thai food and it's pretty much my first choice and I was excited to discover this place near my hotel. The place was deserted At 6pm on Fri, but it's beautiful!

Great service. Given how rough the week was and the fact that I wouldn't be going home this weekend, I allowed myself the indulgence of crispy duck and basil. It looked pricey, but what the hell. WELL, when it arrived, it was easily 2+ servings. The salad on the side was a welcome but of freshness. The plate was absolutely beautiful and the flavors and textures were amazing.

I will be back. I would go out of my way to come back.

  3. Nice ambience, decent food but nowhere near the quality of what you'd find in Woodside or Elmhurst. We had dinner here one time and while the place was nice I'd much prefer the dishes from the likes of Ayada.

  4. The food is pretty tasty with lots of standard Thai offerings. The ambiance is really nice and the severs are very friendly.

The massaman curry with roti appetizer wasn't stellar. The potatoes were on the raw side, but this seems to be the norm because I've received this dish the same way in the past two Thai restaurants I've eaten at.

But there are some great items on the menu that will please most people.

  5. Delicious Thai food, Manhattan level prices (around $11/dish), fast delivery time. This is my go-to delivery spot, since Spice down by the waterfront is expensive and slow. Big fan of their curry and noodle dishes, but not the jungle curry. Maybe we just had a bad one, but it was incredibly watery and totally flavorless. At least it was spicy! Also, note that they don't include rice with their curry orders. They are the ONLY thai restaurant that i've seen do this… so it's a little annoying. Do they expect you to eat the curry on its own?

Four stars for the food, but 3.5 for the overall delivery experience and the fact that they charge you for rice.

  6. Everyone told me that this place is delicious so I decided to order lunch from here. I picked the Pad Khee Mao with beef and extra vegetables, which all came out to $10.88, not a bad price. Since it was lunch special time (11:30 TO 4pm) it came with a Thai Salad. They also prepare the dish very quickly which I was happy about. So lets get down to the nitty gritty of this place…

First of all…the salad, I must say it was very good. It had some shaved carrots, with lettuce and mixed greens and half cut grape tomatoes. The dressing was a peanut sauce that was very savory. However, they barely gave you any salad at all!! The salad literally only took up 1/4 of the container that it was in. So i was really disappointed with the quantity.

As for the Pad Khee mao, I thought the flavors were very good! The noodles were the flat kind and it came with bamboo shoots, corn, cabbage, green beans, carrots, and red beets  It was not spicy at all. I however did not like how much sauce they used, there was literally a pool of sauce in the bottom of my container. I also asked for extra vegetables, and they somehow skimped out on the noodles…sigh. Also the vegetables was so overcooked!! So there was no crunch left in the vegetables, I was really sad. I'm not so sure if I want to ever order from this place again, next time it might just be a drink.

  7. I was glad to see there was a Thai restaurant down the street from my hotel when visiting New York, and even more excited when I saw how good the reviews were!

The restaurant was small and quiet, which I love.

    The service was good.

The food! Amazing! I don't remember the name of the appetizer we ordered, but it was a sort of puff pastry with a curried center. We also had Pad Thai which was one of the better Pad Thai's I have had.

The presentation of the food was definitely the best I have seen at a Thai restaurant, it is obvious they put a lot of effort in to what they do.

I highly recommend this place and will go again during my next return to New York.

  8. Classic Thai restaurant with reasonable lunch specials. I have a noodle problem, so I typically go for the Pad Kee Mao and the Pad See-Ew. Both are great options, and the chefs use a good fire to caramelize the soy sauce.

The salads the lunch specials come with aren't anything to write home about, but you're not there for the salads.

If you are feeling particularly ambitious (and who doesn't sometimes, after a productive morning), you can order the fried ice cream dessert and go to town. And if you happen to be eating with friends who are gluten free or just aren't that hungry, there is no shame in going to town solo. You might need one of those friends to help you blow out the flame, because the dessert is served lit on fire, and it's not always easy to eyeball where the flame is! Pro-tip: look for the heat radiating off the plate, and if it's there, you haven't blown it out yet.
