  1. What a cute place! Came here around 8PM on a Sunday and there was no line. The employees were so nice about letting us try all the flavors and they had samples! The cashew cream and vanilla chia pudding were my favorite flavors. Make sure to get the Paleo blondie bites! I always love a guilt free dessert 🙂

  2. Can I actually give 2 stars to a place where the food, for the most part, was awful? The obliging staff members doling out samples (one just handed us an entire chocolate bar!) certainly helped, as did the beautiful renovation of this space, which was once the shabbiest on the block.

But it's a restaurant, not a museum, so that brings us to the menu. I don't follow a paleo diet, and in fact I barely know what it is. Unfortunately, the only thing I learned here is that nothing paleo is properly seasoned, or seasoned at all. To anyone with an average palate, the lack of salt is a deal breaker. And I could accept that there's no bread, except they feel compelled to offer you a "roll," which is so baffling and foul that it might come from the cafeteria of a prison planet in a dystopian novel.

So you will like this, if this is the sort of thing you like. To everyone else, you were warned.

  3. I am eating clean and have eliminated sugar from my diet as of late. Dining out can, at times, be challenging but I make do.
I have been wanting to try Hu Kitchen for some time soley based on how compliant with my dietary needs it is.
The establishment was empty at 1:45 PM on a Thursday. I ordered the quarter chicken with the mixed greens. I also picked up a pack of chocolate almonds.
The chicken was seasoned nicely and was very good. The mixed greens were okay but not terrible.
I would def come back to stock up on things to keep in the apartment. The woman ahead of me must have had the same thought, she spent $250 on chocolate bars, granola, chia crackers, etc.
This place is expensive but if you are strictly paleo, you maybe ok with spending $40 on two lunches.
