Hudson Social
“I ended up having two glasses of wine and their uber pretzel which was huge, warm, crisp outside, super soft inside- basically, the best pretzel I've ever had.”
“I highly suggest the goat cheese, prosciutto and honey grilled cheese and wings.”
“The interior has a wonderful feel to it, with great views of the river at sunset.”

Been here a few times and it really needs to get its act together. Went there last weekend with a group of 7. My friend and I both ordered the same burger. His was so-so, mine was way overdone even though I ordered medium rare. The burger came with nothing but cheese and a sorry piece of bacon, no lettuce tomato onion, and I could not eat it. Really lame. My other friend ordered the pulled pork sandwich and the brioche roll also looked burnt. I've had one or two good experiences here but only when I stick to the appetizers. Something is not right and the management should make improvements, the menu isn't that big. Service is always slow. The location is okay but you're looking at the parking lot.
Went there last night. Entire staff was on top of game
Friendly fast service
Had the bruschetta sample it was really good
Followed with a Cobb salad
My sister and I stop there for lunch before having massages and we decided to split a burger and the hummus appetizer. The burger was dry, the hummus was very thin and had no flavor at all. And pretty expensive 4 very bad food. Probably will not be going back. Could have spent a little more money at Half Moon and enjoyed our food. Bad call on my part because I wanted to try this place out, will not be going back.
I decided to review Hudson Social again to share my experience about a place that is a true social experience! I've been here more than a dozen times since it opened about nine months ago. I will come for simply drinks with friends and most often for dinner. I've "SOCIAL'd" for breakfast and lunch but most often, for drinks and dinner.
First of all, the outdoor tables and beautiful view of the Hudson is not to be beat. Given the affordable menu, where else can you have such an experience on a beautiful day or evening?
The food:
Apps..my wife and I love to share the dates wrapped in prosciutto with Gorgonzola and the bruschetta sampler (which comes with 2 pcs of prosciutto/fig honey/goat cheese and 2 pcs of prosciutto with mozzarella tomato and basil). Both are simply amazing! When we come for drinks with friends, we often order the baked kale and sweet potato chips as well as the three cheese platter with flatbreads to complement our cocktails.
Entrees and sandwiches: we often share an entrée salad…they are huge… and One of their signature sandwiches. My favorite is the turkey with green apple, bacon, fontina cheese, and cranberry aioli on chiabata bread. My favorite salad is something called the last stop which is a sliced hanger steak with arugula and lots of other stuff. My wife loves the Cobb salad with chicken. The food is what you would expect to find at a haute cuisine top quality formal restaurant but at less than half the cost.
Desserts: on the rare occasions that we have had dessert.. normally too full after food and drinks.. I've enjoyed The Reese's peanut butter brownie which we top with gelato. All the coffees are good with many espressos offered. The small espresso is delicious and only $2.75.
Drinks: WOW! there are specials every day and all summer long they've had $5 margaritas… including the frozen type that my wife loves. They take their bartending seriously. The Moscow Mule is served properly in a copper cup.. Keeping it chilled to the last drop! Cait and all the bartendersare creative and friendly.
By the way, if it is too hot outside, go inside the Social for a cool "retro but now" vibe.
PS.. I've read some of the other reviews. If you are planning to come here to grab something very quickly and leave, I would not recommend that. Come here to chill and have some drinks. It is not meant to be for a grab and go type of experience. If you are looking for an evening with your date or with a group of friends, this is the joint!
I organized a birthday party for my wife at this place. Specifically, we rented the entire upstairs area, including a DJ that they referred. Everything was top notch; the bartenders and wait staff were really on their game and the owner, Linda, was extremely helpful and in constant contact with me to ensure I had everything I needed for the party. The cost was very reasonable and its a really great space for a good size party. Plenty of dancing space too! We really enjoyed it and so did our guests.
Sadly it's a great location, steps from the river and has a casual, fun vibe. Went for lunch and one order was a burger, medium rare with just bacon, pickles and ketchup, and no fries. The order came out well done with lettuce, tomato, onions and fries (which is how is listed on the menu). When we mentioned there was no bacon, the waitress apologized and after we finished our lunch, a second waitress appeared with a piece of bacon on a dish, which we said no thanks. We ordered sliders that were overcooked and the rolls were burned.
Bad enough that the food was overcooked and not to order, the service was TERRIBLE. We were the only table inside, and outside there was a table of three so it's not as if the place was crowded. Once our order was taken, no one came to see if we needed refills or if everything was okay. I could not recommend this place in good conscience.
Wow, this place needs to pull itself together. I rarely write reviews but this is a PSA- the menu is vastly overpriced. $15 for sandwiches that are half filled and a tiny little container of cole slaw. I've never experienced slower service. When paying at the bar, my money was in the bartender's hand for a good 5 minutes while she began fixing other drinks instead of taking 30 seconds to bring my change. She did this to multiple people in our party. We were a larger group that their kitchen was in no way equipped to handle. Don't take reservations that you know you can't service! We ordered at 8, food didn't come staggering out until 9.
Love the outside view.
The uber pretzel is amazing.
Good beer selection.
Happy hour starts at 4 and goes until 10!
