  1. Perfect for LIC. Great little spot if you're looking for something but don't really know what it is. The staff is incredibly knowledgeable and gladly answers all your questions and makes recommendations if you need them. Not a bad choice made here. Very reasonably priced, which is more than can be said for other stores in the area who think because they're in NY they can charge astronomically. This place has the full package and worth a stop in when you're looking for a bottle of something that you need some help finding.

  2. I LOVE this shop.  When I build my dream house one of these days, this is the wine cellar I'm having in my house dammit!  The owner as well as his staff are super nice and so knowledgeable that it's a pleasure to actually interact with the them.

Any time I'm in need of something special for an occasion I come here first because I can describe the gift receiver and what they like and immediately they can point out exactly what I need.  And they give you options in a few price points as well instead of just trying to sell the more high end stuff.

Once I needed a celebratory champagne for a friend who tends to stick to beer and they recommended one that had similar taste qualities of a pilsner…come on I don't know many shops who can do that nor stock something like that!  And the bottle was HUGE hit!

They also do some fantastic tastings in-store as well.

  3. They are too pricey for my taste. We really need a place with more sprits than wine. Not every one is a wine drinker. The location is rather large we are pretty happy.

A $20 bottle of Goose was way overpriced. The customer service gets 5 stars because they were really nice to use. BTW don't be fooled they have a huge selection of wine in the back of the store.

  4. I was happy to come into here after my brunch at Blend across the street.  It is definitely proportioned to red lovers from Europe.  Someone mentioned curated below me and I would say it is similar to a gallery but for wine.  Everything nicely displayed.  A little hard to find something specific for the size of the store, but the owner was very helpful.

Decently priced wine.  Some hard to finds stored in the shelves which I was happy to see.  Liquor was anywhere $5-20 more a bottle here then elsewhere.

Overall- Nice store, good product, nice staff.

  5. A nice curated and attentive wine shop. I must say, not all wine shops are made equal in quality and customer service. I hate walking into a wine shop already knowing that the person behind the counter couldn't give two hoots if you enjoyed the bottle of wine you bought from their store. That definitely was not the case here.

I had a very friendly salesman greet me and asked if he could help me. Since I already spied the bottle of white wine (2006 Domaine Salvard Cheverny) I liked, I just asked if they had it chilled. Lo and behold, they did! Now that is awesome! Some times you can't always get the white wine you like chilled, so this place gets brownie points for that.

The sales guy was chatty and also told me about Friday night tastings. Very cool, since I don't work too far from the area. Would be a great bridge into Friday night debauchery LOL.

But a great wine shop on the busy strip of Vernon Blvd, where all the hot new places are popping up. Great stop before going to a BYOB dinner down the street!

  6. This store is a bit quirky. The owner is super knowledgeable but also lurks behind the desk like a super-villain. There is often an employee working as well, who will follow you around through the store answering questions.

Quirks aside, the service is definitely on point. These guys know their stuff, and there is a great selection of wines from all the important regions of the world. Several times I have had bottles recommended that I loved, and they have a lot of niche bottles for a relatively small store.

I have never been to a wine tasting there, but they have a nice little table/bar set up in the back and it looks like it would be a great time. They also have a large wall behind the register with a decent liquor selection, and a good amount of bourbon, in particular. This is the only wine store I've been to in the neighborhood but I would imagine it's the best.
