This particular bubble tea store is a habit for me. I was hooked after my first time here three years ago. They have some other options such as baked goods and soft drinks; they seem to add more options every few months. Every time the manager makes one of my drinks, it comes out perfectly. However during the weekend or weekday evenings, it doesn't come out as well with the flavored syrup not being proportional to the green tea. Theres a small space on the side of the store maybe seating for four people. Outside of the store, there are other spots to sit with your drink or walk around the mall. It's conveniently located next to the Rain Forest Cafe entrance in the back on the mall.
I normally get Green Apple Green Tea with tapioca. They mix Green Apple flavored syrup with equal parts of green tea. Tastes great!
It was just Eh. I ordered a banana bubble tea and I was expecting it to taste so much different. The first sip I took it tasted like that imitation banana. Which is exactly what it was. DISGUSTING and so watered down. The woman behind the desk was nice though. I will return but I will not be getting that bubble tea ever again.
I thought this place was going to be good… Long line, employees taking a long time to make everyone's drink, and a name that says they "luv" bubble teas. I just assumed and you know what they say when you ass-u-me…
The smoothie itself was nothing special. I even opted to get the premium coconut flavor for myself and the premium taro flavor for my wife for an added price. It tasted a bit creamier I guess (according to the person behind the counter), but it wasn't mind blowing or anything. Worst part was, after drinking about 1/3 of it, it turned into an icee/slurpee where the smoothie turned into an ice cube after sucking out all the flavor. I don't think that's ever happened to me before with a bubble tea, weird.
Another oddity. I guess they ran out of tapioca pearls and needed to make more for our drinks? So when they added them to our cups, they were actually hot. This might be why it turned into a icee/slurpee mess like I stated above. Not only that, but they were not good bubbles. They were chewy, not fresh at all tasting.
I am not sure what the hype was all about with bubble tea. I went with a small banana milk tea ($3.45). It just did not taste like anything to me. The tapioca bubbles were just strange and did nothing for me. I might give it another try given the different types of bubble teas available, but the milk tea was just not good.
Will I go back? Possibly.
I don't understand the great positive rating for this place.
We ordered/shared a taro bubble tea. We got the free large upgrade with the check-in here.
The lady that took our order didn't seem to be able to keep up with the high demand on a Saturday afternoon.
They don't have that automatic shaker giving us and was shaken manually. I don't think the taro mix was homogenized. It was funny the lid sealer had to be hand cranked as well.
I probably not come back here for bubble tea.
