I had a good time here! It was a sunny day and the set up of this restaurant is awesome. We didn't feel like sitting outside in the sun, but they have an indoor part that opens up to outside.
I'm mad we didn't try any drinks, but we did try the food and it was yummy. I had the Cuban sandwich with a side of chili dusted fries. For the price and quality I was very happy with my selection. My friend ordered the Camerones (shrimp) and plantains. Plantains were yummy! For the atmosphere, price, service, and quality of food this is a great place to go.
I frequent this establishment pretty often which puzzles me why I haven't written a review for it until now. This has to be one of my fav restaurants/bars in NYC and seeing that I live in Harlem it is quite a journey for me. BUT TOTALLY WORTH IT. I think it is my fav because of the food, customer service, and that Cheers feeling when I am at the bar.
The staff here is wonderful and honestly they have some of the most personable servers. I normally sit at the bar alot and the bartenders and Juan and Carlos are pretty damn awesome. This isn't a large restaurant but what I love is how they make use of their space without feeling overcrowded.
Some of my fav things include their passion fruit mojitios. They are so tasty and I pretty much drink them like they are water. They advertise they have the best mojitios and they are not lying!!!! They have so many flavor like coconut, guava, and others. ALSO GIVE THE MAMA JUANA a try if you like dark liquor. You will thank me later.
Off their food menu some of my favs are Arroz Con Pollo . This was my first dish from them and they presentation for this dish knocked my socks off. As far as appetizers I recommend the Empanadas and Camarones.
Great food. Great location. Excellent service.
Had the skirt steak and the ox tail. Too many good appetizers to name. Fair BYOB policy. The salsa with the plantain chips is amazing. Moderately priced. I would definitely go back.
Ideya has gone downhill since it left Soho for Brooklyn. I hadn't been in a while and a pre-concert dinner with friends drew me back. Drinks were slightly off: virtually no ginger beer in the Moscow Mule and a bad Dark and Stormy, too. The sangria rojo was fine but a bit thick in an odd way. The bacalaitos were tough and overly salty. Sopa de pollo was okay but the broth was watery. Empanadas – I had chicken – were the best offering. A meh experience overall.
In love!
First time I came for dinner with a group and everything was amazing. From the camarones to the Arroz con Pollo to my Dark N Stormy, straight perfection.
I told my best friend about Ideya and she was ecstatic to come try out their food. We came in for brunch yesterday and had the best experience. The food, drinks and service was amazing once again.
Mango mimosas?! Yum!!
Pina Colada french toast?! Delightful
Complimentary jalapeño cornbread?! Unique and delicious
Rice and beans?! Authentic as hell
Salmon?! Cooked just how we asked (well done) but still moist with all the right seasonings
Sautéed kale?! Healthy and flavorful
I really love this spot, like everything about it. Our server Fausto is the man, the decor is bright and eye catching (down to the hanging gummy life savers along the windows) and my food has been great on both occasions.
I will definitely be back
I am not sure why I haven't been here many times but here I am.
Cute place with a welcoming vibe.
I ordered the mojito which is described as the best in town. It was disappointing but I did ask for less sugar- but still.
Yummy chips but the salsa is a surprisingly a bit bland.
I tried the shrimp $1.75 a piece. Nice presentation- good dish.
Seated outside which was nice. But everything else was a bust.
Food portion was small, and not that tasty. Not sure if they were short staff but we literally had NO waiter. No one followed up on our meal or our experience. I had to flag a waiter down for the check.
If you are looking for drinks, great just sit at the bar but won't recommend it for anything else.
Better restaurants right down the street!
Came here after work for a drink and was pleasantly entertained by our awesome bartender Darryl. He gave us great suggestions for drinks and was really enjoyable to talk to. I ordered the mango margarita and it was really tasty. We also had the passion fruit scallop ceviche as an appetizer. The complimentary plantain chips and dip are also tasty! Couldn't stop eating it!
