IKEA Restaurant
“The Swedish meatballs with dill roasted potatoes and cranberries on the side are a good salty/sweet combo I greatly enjoy.”
“The potatoes were slightly less than crisp but were perfect with IKEA's signature lingonberry sauce (served per my request).”
“We sat by the windows and got a view of the planes taking off and landing at Newark Airport.”

We had an average cinnamon roll, slice of cheese pizza and a small Niagara bottle of water.
The total bill was only around $4.

The restaurant was clean with only stand-up tables. It has a canteen feel.
Food: My favorite thing to get is of course the meat balls. After a long day of walking around and looking at amazing spaces playing house those meatballs hit the spot. I also had the ribs and they are actually really good. Don't expect a smokehouse southern style experience. They are soft and tender with a great sweet BBQ sauce on them. It's above average if you want to give them shot.
Brew: No beer here but you gotta love the unlimited soft drinks so buy one cup and share.
Pretty much what I was expecting, but not a fan of the long wait. It was an early Sunday morning with hardly a crowd in line and yet we crawled.
You know what you're getting here. The meatballs have increasingly been headed towards "just okay" in my opinion. I did like the cold smoked salmon with root vegetable salad but that was about it.
They do have the .99 breakfast, but on a Sunday you can only get it from 10 to 11 am (I got there at 11:10 grrr). Ikea family members do get some perks and free coffee and tea. I don't think you can call the restaurant a great value, but it is a good idea to stop here before you tackle the shopping craziness.
It's 99 cents regular breakfast and free coffee. No one can beat this deal! Regular Breakfast is 2 link sausages and scrambled eggs and potatoes. For a dollar extra, u can add on the 3 piece French toast. They also have Swedish american breakfast for $2.99 which is really their regular breakfast with Swedish pancakes. They also have waffles for a dollar. They also have desserts out, salads, bagels, garlic bread, cornbread, cinnamon buns, naked juice drinks, etc.
My family of 4 came hungry and ate until we are full. All for $13!
Certain days, ikea have specials deals on lunch and dinner. Check out their websites and each ikea restaurant have their own deals.
For the price and freshness of a small limited menu with great healthy options, the cafeteria at Ikea is great. 5 stars for what it is: nourishing cheap food in a retail space.
Always fresh salmon, Swedish meatballs, small sadwiches, salads, vegetarian options, all cheap, all not bad. Pies and desserts are good too.
Coffee is great, love the lingonberry drink, spike it with soda (or a flask of vodka if you're not driving to deal with Sunday crowds); all beverages have unlimited refills, haven't tried a thermos yet.
For the cheapest eats, go to the food counter at the exit after the cashiers, or enter from the loading area outside, but expect the $0.75 hot dogs to be flavorless, but a kid might not mind. Pizza slices are pretty awful looking, but also cheaper than the cafe, if you have kids, you may want to go there first.
I was really looking forward to a hearty lunch of Swedish meatballs but I had such a mehhhh experience today. First, they weren't serving salmon today so one of my shopping companions ended up not eating. No explanation, just a bark of "No salmon today." Odd. I used to get my meatballs with fries but they told me this wasn't allowed today, only mashed potatoes. Okay, another odd restriction. The food itself was fine but the line took forever. Also, all the lingonberry sodas were out of order which was a disappointment. Maybe it was an off day but I was less than impressed.
No frills, affordable, quick bites kinda deal.
Swedish meatballs is one of our favorite things to get here. It comes with mashed potatoes and lingonberry sauce. The set up is like a cafeteria. Grab your tray, order your food, and pay at the end. There is quite a bit of seating here but depending on when you come, it can be a bit difficult to find. IKEA does get very busy on weekends. Cashiers are friendly enough and quick.
I like this little cafeteria. It has windows all around and you can see the planes very close by. I've had a lot of their food, though I noticed that the cashiers never want to swipe your Ikea card. I think there was a contest where you could win $500 and they were trying to keep people out of it.
I've had a few of their meals. I liked the roast chicken better than the meatballs. It seemed healthier and less processed. The daily specials are the best deal, so just get whatever the day's special is.
On any big shopping weekend, it's usually a free meal weekend. That means if you show your meal receipt to the furniture store cashier, they deduct the amount off your bill.
