IL Panino Italian Deli
“Their bread comes from Calandra's (which is just a couple of doors down in Calandra's Plaza).”
“My personal favorite is the Chicken Napolitano, which is a Chicken Cutlet with broccoli rabe, balsamic vinaigrette, and bleu cheese (but I substitute it for fresh mozzarella).”
“For the price and the quality of service we received, we definitely will consider Il Panino the next time we have to cater an office event.”

after eating breakfast in my hotel at 9:30 on Saturday, and even going to the hotel gym to stay in BEAST MODE shape, I had plenty of time to kill before the wedding I was going to be officiating.
and, there was a half bottle of Black Label that I intended to drink before (you know, to take the edge off), so I knew I had to grab something light to eat.
a quick walk through the parking lot of the Best Western and I saw there were a bunch of shops, and I stopped in here. basic Italian deli, though I didn't opt for any sandwiches. instead, I opted for a quintessential staple: cheese fries with gravy (yes, that is a "light" meal for me).
took a while but the fries were awesome. slightly seasoned, plentiful, and the ratio of cheese to gravy was perfect. came to 5 bucks. staff was friendly.
for the record, yes, I was sitting in my room, eating disco fries, drinking scotch, and watching "Wedding Crashers" right before officiating a wedding. this is just another Saturday in the life of Mike B.
My office placed an order here a few weeks ago when we had guests in our office. We got the cold cut platter to serve 12 and we were quite satisfied. I had to place the order several days in advance because I was going to be out of the office until the day we needed the food, and they were very accomodating. We requested the order to be delivered at noon, and they were right on time.
The platter came with tons of cold cuts and a big tray of various breads. The hard rolls were my favorite – crisp on the outside and super soft on the inside. The cold cuts and cheeses tasted fresh and the lettuce/tomatoes/onions that came alongside were not wilted or slimy at all. The order also came with potato salad and macaroni salad – we were big fans of both of those as well. I will say that there was way more food than we expected. We did have 12 people eating, but we could have easily gotten away with ordering half the amount. We all got to take leftovers home, which was pretty awesome, though.
We liked that the salads came in nice plastic bowls with plastic serving utensils (which we washed and stashed in our cabinets for later use, of course). I can't tell you how many times I've ordered catering for offices I've worked in only to find we had no way of actually serving the food.
The rest of their menu looks pretty good – lots of different sandwiches, salads, and hot entrees that we would love to try sometime. For the price and the quality of service we received, we definitely will consider Il Panino the next time we have to cater an office event.
Just ate lunch here, ordered the chicken cutlet Parmesan sandwich, and it was delicious! The bread is fresh, and toasted perfectly-I saw from other reviews that it's from the bakery a couple doors down. My BF got the pastrami and loved it, but regretted not adding mustard. They put a bunch of meat on the sandwich too, definitely a great value. We could only eat half our sandwiches. It felt like a family business owned by Italians who know exactly what they're doing. I don't think I'll ever be back in the area, but I'm glad I go to try this place and definitely recommend it if you're in the area.
The people are friendly and they'll make you a great sandwich on some of the best bread around, Callandra's. If I'm there early, I'll get a butter roll with 2 slices of ham and pretend I'm in Paris. In the afternoon, nothing beats a good Morte Della. Definitely a fan, definitely going back when I'm in the area.
