Indo Pak Halal Restaurant
“a few days later when i was craving meat and looking for halal stuff in east harlem, this is the only place i could find.”
“But if you're ordering delivery and live on the UPPER EAST SIDE then this wouldn't be a bad choice at all!!”
“We only ordered the chicken tikka masala and shared it and it was more than enough for my husband and I. It has so much flavour and not too sweet.”

Used to go here a lot! But I feel like the curries they have here are pretty oily and I'm not a big fan of the rice or naan, It's nice that they let you put together your own salad for your order, and the kabobs and the chai here are pretty good. The food here isn't expensive and the service is fast because the orders are prepared from the dishes in the steam table. They also have a couple of desserts in the fridge.
I tried several dishes with a friend. This place can be summed up in one sentence: Large portions of good food at inexpensive prices.
Samosa – It was an order of two of these for $2.00. They were definitely microwaved, but still tasted fine. A good choice for an appetizer.
Garlic Naan – Not bad. The naan actually had little chunks of garlic in it, was very fluffy, and tasted good.
Chicken Tikka Masala – This was the first entree we tried. The portion, along was the side of rice, was huge! Their chicken tikka masala is very creamy and was excellent. Taste-wise, it was very strong on the yogurt taste, but weak on the tomato taste.
Lamb Biryani – This dish was even better than the tikka masala, and was the best part of the meal. It was very fragrant and full of flavors. I highly recommend this entree if you try this place.
CHEAP CHEAP WOOAA CHEAP!!
I just ordered from here and though that because it was so inexpensive the dishes might be too small and for under $20!! Honestly there is enough food in my apartment right now to feed 3-4 people!
$3 Samosas WITH Chick Peas – UNBELIEVABLE!
(they came in one dish together and it was
the BEST thing I have ever ordered I swear!)
$6 Chicken Tikka Masala – small pieces of meat loads of sauce
(not a small portion doesn't come with rice)
$4 Tarka (Royal) Daal – EXCELLENT!
(Lentils, Kidney Beans Prepared with a Touch of Herbs )
$3 Keema Naan – DIFFERENT BUT GOOD. I could taste Lamb?
(Unleavened Bread Baked with filling of Minced Meat)
$1 Regular Naan
(1 Order is one medium/large folded piece of unleavened bread)
$2 For (1) Gulab Jamun & (1) Rasmala
(The guy was nice enough to let me have one of each
instead of two of one)
They even packed in some raw onions along with cucumbers for those of you who like adding more spice. Each dish already has a lot of flavor and in my opinion does not need to be spicier or saltier or changed at all! I'm going to chop up the onions in the morning when I make eggs for breakfast. Now I don't need to run to the store! Thanks Halal!
Needless to say I will be ordering delivery from here again. I don't think it's a sit down restaurant but either way take out or delivery is okay with me!

Strong Suggestions: If you like rice specify that you want some with your meal. Ask if it is included. If it's not then just order some I'm sure it's cheap!
NOTE: This place is a GREAT deal. I wouldn't bring a date all the way across or uptown just to go here. But if you're ordering delivery and live on the UPPER EAST SIDE then this wouldn't be a bad choice at all!! It's SUPER CHEAP AND SUPER TASTY!!
