This place, hands down, has the best ramen in NYC! Besides ramen I highly recommend their steamed pork buns! Just glorious!
Staff is always polite and they set you up and clean up super quick without rushing you out! Love the decor!
Come right before they open or prepare yourself to wait (for a while)…
Great ambience and vibe. Awesome date spot. Was a bit disappointed that the only ramen made for non meat eaters was the wasabi ramen.
We arrived on a Friday night around 6:30pm and surprisingly only had to wait around 30 minutes! Not bad compared to what I was expected. We were seated on the high top area right in front of the chefs- def a cool area to sit in. Drinks were nothing out of the ordinary- nothing other than what you would see at any other restaurant.
We ordered the miso glazed appetizer which was GREAT. My favorite part of the meal. It was a delicious mixture of mushrooms, tofu, scallions, onions and peppers with some type of bomb sauce. Highly recommend!
For the main dish I got the wasabi ramen soup which came out to be a bit bland and a bit too much wasabi taste. After adding some siracha and their home made chili hot sauce it tasted loads better. Next time I think it's probably worth telling them to go easy on the wasabi flavor. Def worth checking out this spot
Very blah. Heard lots of good things about this place, but not at all as described. Very very loud place. The ramen itself was lacking in flavor and quantity. For a pork ramen, there was a measly 2 tiny slices of pork that would hardly count as slices at all (more like large crumbs). The soup was ultra salty, almost as if the cook accidentally spilled salt in the broth and just compensated by adding more water, diluting down any other flavor.
I refuse to believe this is the pinnacle of ramen in New York. I would love suggestions if you see this and would like to offer some(seriously).
One of the more authentic Japanese restaurants in experience though it's too nice to reflect what most ramen places are actually like in Japan. You're properly welcomed and the staff communicates with each other in Japanese and all sound fluent(whether or not they are is unclear).
The buns were great. They don't get extra points for that because I've had more good buns than bad or even mediocre buns but these were really good. I'd come back just for these.
I got the Akamaru. The broth was deep and flavorful enough but I really expected more. Good not great. They really skimp on the meat and an egg isn't even included in the $15 price. So a minimum of $17 plus tax and tip and you're paying $20 plus for a good, not great bowl of ramen.
This was the 2nd bowl of ramen I had this week and I honestly might've preferred my bowl at Kuu ramen more. I was just underwhelmed and disappointed because I was really expecting a great bowl of ramen.
I would come back if somebody suggested it but wouldn't go out of my way to come back.
3.5 stars.

Another strong product from Ippudo in-line with the other location on the West Side. One of the best, if not the best, in the city. I, as do many others, recommend going for the Akamaru. Go during an off-time if you can.
This review is for the one on 4th and 10th. First of all, we weren't sure if it was the right place since it didn't have a sign in front but we figured that the Asian appeal led us right in. At first when you walk in they all shout welcome in Japanese. The ramen was good, service was prompt but they had an issue with us adding another person to the party when the entire restaurant was empty and many tables were open. It doesn't make sense to me. The seat next to us was completely open and they were like "we can't do that blah blah" ok whatever, so we got moved to a diff table..it would have been just fine..but I guess they want more business for people who were dining alone or parties less than 2. Eh… Oh well.
Very inviting atmosphere. The staff greats you so well.
They gave me a Ippudo fan along with the food.
The food was good. I went in for the lunch special. which was $4 extra to any regular noodle price, but you get a salad, and a donburri.
I also tried the pork buns. Not as good as other places, but still good. The meat was a bit tough and the sauce was too strong, plus way too much mayo.
There's a reason why this place has 8000+ reviews. They ain't kidding. By far the best ramen I've ever had! The worst part of this place is……… the wait. We waited an hour. An hour doesn't sound too bad. But we got there the second it opened.
Will bring bf next time! He gotta tryyy. You gotta try!!
Note: you cannot take anything out. make sure you finish all your food!
