Grew up in Philly, and somehow spent the last half of my life residing in Las Vegas. Took a road trip 2800 miles to New England earlier this month. Came within 100 miles of my old stomping grounds in Philly, but no time for a detour due to tight schedule.
I was craving a hoagie! Some call it a hero, others call it a sub, I call it a craving that had me on Exit 52B headed somewhere Italian that I could get a good sandwich.
After figuring out how to do a U-turn with the crazy 8 exit on the right setup probably only found in Jersey, I was able to get here. Boy, what a lucky find! Convenient parking right out front in this well lighted shopping center parking lot, large enough to easily fit my 22' Penske moving truck.
Walked inside, immediately sensed the fabulous aroma of Italian family cooking. The front counter had a glass partition showing several pizzas and delicacies. Nice interior design with the stone facade on the front of the ordering counter.
This clean restaurant is large with many tables and decorated very nicely. Beautiful tile floors, cool lighting, and lots of pictures on the walls. Too bad we didn't have time to hangout for a full dinner as the menu features everything I adore, and more! Ordered an Italian sandwich to go. The cashier and cooks were very friendly.
One of my kids couldn't stay outside like I asked him to and conned me into buying him a slice of pepperoni pizza. He woofed it down faster than you can say Joey Chestnut.
Got back on the 278 heading toward New York and began uncontrollably stuffing my face with delicious ham, prosciutto, salami and provolone; inside a nice soft chewy hoagie roll. French fries were good too!
If I should find myself in Morris County again, you can bet I will return here to this restaurant and feast! Thanks again for the Italian hospitality. Easily, a 5 Star experience!
