  1. Italian village is definitely the best quick-lunch spot in the area, but I have mixed feelings about their subs. They are tastey, but I give them a fail, as they can't make a sandwich that is clean to eat and/or that doesn't nearly-completely fall apart. I need a roll of paper towels to eat a sub from here

  2. I must say, the food is good. The salads are yummy and the cheese pie is good. As close to Brooklyn style as you are going to get in central jersery

  3. low cost order at the counter pizza/italian place.. garlic and spinach chicken philly cheesesteak sub and vodka penne were both good. good bread. fair amount of seating.

  4. This place is awful. It is similar to thick crusted generic midtown Manhattan pizza with cheap skim milk mozzarella cheese.  The cheesesteaks are awful. Paisano's is the best local pizza and about as close to an old school New York style slice of thin crust pizza.  The wings are great at Paisano's as well. This comes from someone who grew up in Brooklyn only to see all of the children of Brooklyn's great Italian pizza makers go on to college and giving up on the art of pizza making.

With that said Italian Village is your plain generic bad slice of pizza.  And while Paisano's isn't up to snuff with a Lombardi's or Totonno's slice, its pretty good for an old school NY thin crust slice.

If anyone else says otherwise they either have no palate or are lying to you.  The cheesesteaks are just inedible…. enough said. Any decent mall has a Philly Cheesesteak shop that makes a better quality cheesesteak.

  5. Great for takeout. I love cooking, but when I get the craving for meatballs, this is where I go! Inexpensive and flavorful Italian food, especially for takeout.
